I don't see anything that would break any rules. They are entitled to ask for funding if they want, whether we agree with their case or not.Well I've immediately reported that nonsense - hopefully GoFundMe will do something.
Why would anyone without a car move to somewhere so remote, that alone must bring into question their sanity. They are also looking to raise money to cover their travel expenses as "we do not have a car that is roadworthy - we cannot drive it on a public road and live 40 miles from nearest town... Because we live in a remote place it will involve a lot of travelling."

Hello everyone who is following my channel Altnabreac Cover up. I have taken the kind advice from peop… Ian Appleby needs your support for ALTNABREAC COVER UPwww.gofundme.com
Exactly what I was thinking. Oh well, it is a free country I guess! You really couldn’t make it up. And thirty grand won’t go far on that list of theirs
Perhaps a bit off-topic, but there's no way I could exist there with the number of midges seen in that video.
They have distorted the truth - nothing the authorities have done in dealing with them could be described as 'harassment'. So in that sense there is an argument for libel.I don't see anything that would break any rules. They are entitled to ask for funding if they want, whether we agree with their case or not.
They show the police a fallacious piece of paper which they claim proves their right to the railway land. The police try to point out the problem in their argument and are talked over constantly. There are lots of midges.I tried watching the video to try and see what argument they were making but decided that it was too tedious. Would someone with more stamina mind summarising it?

Odd, I thought they’d engaged the advice of a Scottish legal professional.A GoFundMe appeal has been launched by the homeowners - they are looking to raise £30,000 to, among other things, "sue Network Rail, BTP and Registers of Scotland".
Nearby residents at a Caithness railway station have appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court on charges including endangering the life of staff and passengers and interfering with the running of the network by standing on the track.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the incidents were all alleged to have taken place at Altnabreac level crossing on March 1 this year.
Ian Appleby (46), of the Station Cottage at Altnabreac, appeared before Sheriff Ian Cruickshank and made no plea to all the accusations including of ignoring warning signs and trespassing on Network Rail land in dangerous proximity to the line.
The other charges were, while acting with another, culpably and recklessly standing on the tracks in the path of the oncoming train to the risk of injury and danger of life to you, the passengers and staff on the train; and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person fear and alarm in that you did shout, swear and utter abusive comments towards two police constables.
His partner, 48-year-old Elizabeth Howie, a former police officer, also appeared on similar charges to which she made no plea. The charges were trespassing in dangerous proximity to a Network Rail track; maliciously interfering with the running of the railway track by standing on it and bringing trains to a halt; obstructing British Transport Police officers in the execution of their duty and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Both were committed for further examination and released on bail to appear again in court in the due course of law.
This case went precisely nowhere though, didn't it?From the Northern Times 4/3/2024

Read what he says on Youtube, lots of inaccuracies, he’s deleting comments that question him or point out he and his wife are out on bail or point out actual facts that go against his point of view, leading an awful lot of people to only seeing a one sided narrative leading people to donate to something that’s untrueI don't see anything that would break any rules. When you live locally you tend to know what’s actually going on and the inaccuracies posted onlineHe seems to be churning out videos on YouTube like there's no tomorrow. Can't be bothered with linking them....even if I knew how to.

Liz and I have had enough of the Rail Forum UK members coming on here and slandering us, as if it isn't bad enough what they are saying on their forum! Yes I will be removing all of their slanderous ilk from comments
The Scottish Ministers have no locus to bring proceedings in this case and would be well advised not to do so.I'm not quite sure how we solve this impasse, but I suspect that a legal case probably should be brought by the Scottish government who ultimately are responsible for the nationalised scottrail operation and network rail Scotland as a joint venture and let a court of law decide what to do.
