Hope they get rid was on a 333 to Leeds this afternoon and mentioned leeds about 4 times after we left guiseley.
That's how it's designed to work as it doesn't use GPS so doesn't know where the train is.Hope they get rid was on a 333 to Leeds this afternoon and mentioned leeds about 4 times after we left guiseley.
Thats a shame, I'll be upset when that happens. But I understand why they're doing itNope, it'll be standard trainFX
Would the 333s not have the Ethernet backbone to support the same PIS as the 331/195s?Thats a shame, I'll be upset when that happens. But I understand why they're doing it
Why??? It's a horrendous PIS. It ought to scroll, but it doesn't, so it flashes between messages of various font sizes in an infuriating manner. Martin Oldfield is also far too loud, and I don't personally think he even sounds that good. Then again, I'm probably just traumatised by the fact he seems to make the same announcement ten times between two stations.Thats a shame, I'll be upset when that happens. But I understand why they're doing it
And so is TFX! (It's got a bit better since they first started rolling it out though, I suppose)Why??? It's a horrendous PIS.
TrainFx is nowhere near as poor as the PIS on 333s by pretty much any metric. And so is TFX! (It's got a bit better since they first started rolling it out though, I suppose)
Does this mean that All of the 333s have received the Digital Train Mods or just the oneGOOD NEWS: We've completed a digital upgrade of our class 333 fleet, which operate services Skipton - Bradford Forster Square and Leeds - Ilkley
Just the one.

Yeah it's definitely not all, sat on one now with no mods done yet. And one I caught yesterday had the charging sockets but no screens installed.Just the one.
Was it a 333?Yeah it's definitely not all, sat on one now with no mods done yet. And one I caught yesterday had the charging sockets but no screens installed.
It was, and definitely had the USB sockets. I did look for the screens but didn't see any, however with only one per carriage I probably did miss seeing any.Was it a 333?
The only unit done in any form so far yet is 333011 which was released back into service yesterday. It does have the new screens (the advert type ones - they are fairly small and it is 1 per coach so easy to miss). The PIS screens have not been changed yet.
Wouldd you have any idea of the unit number pleaseSTP 24/07 5V81 1227 Neville Hill - Barton Hill dep 1230

Well now that’s progressing I wonder what is next for people on here to inevitably moan about. As promised, now rolling out on the advert screens on all the legacy fleet. Where connections are available live departure information is also shown.
(Image shows train calling pattern and live times on a screen in the saloon of a refurbished train).
Do all of those things really matter?Well now that’s progressing I wonder what is next for people on here to inevitably moan about.
Not the same style as the 195/331’s?
Too much information now?
Screens are a millimetre too small?
I believe that is what Neptune was saying, these things don't matter, but it's only a matter of time until someone on here comes along saying it does. Let's wait and see...Do all of those things really matter?
Precisely. Those of an anti-Northern slant on here like to make issues of all sorts of minor things and when they are resolved they’ll always find a way to still complain at something that is irrelevant to 99.9% of the population.I believe that is what Neptune was saying, these things don't matter, but it's only a matter of time until someone on here comes along saying it does. If I'm being picky having a second screen per coach would have been nice, but obviously the important information is also displayed on the TrainFX screens. The equipment itself is designed by Infotec who have plenty of experience so I expect it will work reliably when fully rolled out - you now get pretty much identical information on the displays of a 150 as on a 195, so it's pretty impressive in my book.Precisely. TPE and Avanti do, it just doesn’t work 100% of the time. One thing I can say for Northern is that they have wifi fitted on pretty much all of their trains, something the big boys such as TPE and Avanti don't.
