Because the ex-EMR upholstery is in such a poor state it was decided to overhaul the seats and put them all into Northern moquette. This also includes replacing the seat back grab handles so that the interiors are PRM compliant. There are no other internal works planned on these units (yet).
Any ideas when they are due out or to early to say? Would like to see them on the return to Allerton

Any update on the work required to bring 156478 into service yet at Heaton, please, Diligent Dave? Are we likely to see it in use with Northern before the December timetable change? TIA!
Basically it needs new wheelsets. Availability of final drive gearcases is the national railway issue and this hinders getting spares to undertake this work but yes, it is envisaged that 156478 will be ready for December TT.
Change of plan. 5th October is the new provisional movement date for 205.
Is this just a repaint or will they be having a refurbishment like the other half of the 323s? If the 323s are actually going to operate Manchester - Blackpool services then I wouldn't particularly like to be downgraded from plug sockets to absolutely nothing (not even USBs like the Northern refurbed units) on my commute
The ex-WMT 323s have already had the digital mods with USB ports installed.
It's just a repaint. As pointed out, digital mods have already been completed.
oh fair enough, didn’t realise as the photos I saw I couldn’t find any USBs on them. Will they also have any lighter interior work to have the same interior as the Northern refurbs?
Most units have, however a handful didn't get done before moving. 219,241,243 come to mind from my final few runs on the cross city with those units

150111 as quoted above should return today ( it was supposed to be Saturday but it failed before it left). 150226 is due out end of October. 150218 you probably won't see until early 2025 (ish).
