Standardised PIS system, the old system was probably becoming obsolete so would need replacing soon anyway and the old system didn't have live updates and times and was limited to the pre programmed calling patterns, anything different meant turning it off or just having destination only which goes against PRM regulations

323208 left Wolverton in its new colours today, any ideas on what unit went in?

Thanks in advance

Is there any say on what the formations are? I had a look in the Platform 5 DMU book for 2025 and 150007 and 150008 are shown in italics, with no vehicles for either, but 150111, 150132 and 150226 are still listed with their respective 52xxx and 57xxx vehicles, formations they won’t run in during 2025.

507020, from gleaning on here and various other places, this is what I have.

007 = 52132+52226+57132

008 = 52111+57226+57111

Cheers!

Unsure on the timescale but it looks like the 20 156s that Northern gained (ex GA and EMR) have funding now for the 'Digital Trains upgrade' as well as general freshen up on the interior

Also the 158/9s will be rolled through the C6 upgrade presumably once the 3 car 158s are complete.

Whatever Northern have gained, the Buxton line needs full booked 4-car working, which it doesn't yet appear to have!

What’s happened with 150006 , I saw it went to Wolverton a few months ago but not heard anything about it?

Same with 158755
150006 is still at Wolverton, expected out mid-December. 158755 is still at Neville Hill, it's expected to be released mid-December as well.

Seems to have gone a bit quiet about 150007 and 150008 - or perhaps I've just missed it. When are they expected to be in service - working off Nevillle Hill or Heaton?

Many thanks

They look to be penciled in to work trains between Huddersfield and Leeds again of which Northern are taking over 50% from the new timetable

Ive not seen anything to say otherwise but last check they were both still parked at Heaton on a well earned rest

007 is due to arrive at Neville Hill today as far as I know, I can't imagine it'll be long until it's out in service.

Basically it needs new wheelsets. Availability of final drive gearcases is the national railway issue and this hinders getting spares to undertake this work but yes, it is envisaged that 156478 will be ready for December TT.

Change of plan. 5th October is the new provisional movement date for 205.
Any update, please, on the likely "into service" date for 156478 at Heaton? Also are four 158's still moving from NL to HT for when the new Ashington service starts in ten days time? TIA.

158787 and 790 are due to move up this morning (unsure if they are permanent transfers though) with 156440 that's visited Neville Hill for work.

150008 due to arrive on Neville Hill this afternoon too.

156478 is expected to be released this weekend. It will then do some running tests coupled to the Ashington route learning diagrams (HT657/HT658) next week to give it a thorough shake down. Hopefully it should be enough to put it into passenger service the following week.

The 158's to cover the Ashington line are already here, 158796 & 158791, along with those being transferred today as above post).

Looks like 790 potentially didn't make it, always tomorrow!

Couple of questions if I may.

Is 156478 staying at Heaton or moving to NH as I thought I'd seen elsewhere?
Are there any other units moving to NH to cover the 3 units (now 2x3) 150's 150007/8, or is it deemed that NH has enough as it stands -if the two ex-TfW 769's arrive to cover the existing 769's which may mean fewer 150/156's covering the non-availability of the existing 769's?

Thanks in advance.

Re the formations of 150007 & 150008 ......

In post #10,493 DiligentDave wrote: 150007 & 150008 will be created using 150111 (outers) and half of 226, the other should be 150132 (and the other half of 226).

I possibly read too much into DiligentDave's post, taking it to mean that 150111 was to become 150007, and 150132 to become 150008, but maybe he listed 150111 and 150132 in what was then their current numerical order, rather than their new set number?

Or perhaps plans subsequently changed, because post #10,579 (9th Nov) has 150007 "formed up at Heaton but not yet renumbered" - with a picture showing an end car of 150132, and in post #10,580 (12th Nov), 150111 is reported passing through York station.

And then in post #10,593 (24th Nov) 507020 states the formations as:
007 = 52132+52226+57132
008 = 52111+57226+57111

Now both sets are at Neville Hill, it would be great if someone could confirm that the formations are as set out by 507020, please.

Many thanks

Can confirm 150007 is made up of 52132, 52226 and 57132.
Filmed it last night!
