Not going very well today as (assuming they're still on diagram) diagrams 2 and 5 have both failed.

Any updates on both of them? I was on the 13:30 Padd-Temple Meads earlier and there was some sort of issue with it that felt like only one powercar was providing traction but both sounded like they were powering when I bailed and watched it leave. I'd very much like to know so I can put only the powering one(s) in my moves
To add to that I'm now on the 17:03 Padd-PZ awaiting departure with no updates so far but from overhearing the driver it sounds like he's unable to release the brakes?EDIT: Guard has just made an announcement and has confirmed a brake fault with the front powercar but has said that they think they've found the cure and that we should be moving very shortly.

1A24 (diagram 2) was cancelled throughout and the stock for the next working has come from elsewhere, so I'd assume the set was taken to bed.
Good that the 17:03 was fixed though. All I heard was something to do with air (which tallies with your announcement about brakes).
Update: I've asked people in the know who say the 13:30 was One Engine only. Couldn't tell you which one however.
Yeah, presumably went to Phillips Marsh so they could fix the problem.
Yep, sounds about right. Left Paddington about 15-late so far but there's been no hanging around and we're now approaching Reading.
Cheers. If anyone in the know would be able to say which powercar wasn't working then I'd much appreciate it (for reference it was 063 on the front and 088 on the back).
I was on the 1330. Max speed 100mph, 85mph through Slough etc. Not sure what power car wasn’t working properly tbh
Yeah, that's definitely about right. Torturously slow accelerating away from stations too.
Just seen the 18:03 Padd-PZ (diagram 2, which was caped at Bristol earlier) pass with an IET vice HST. Looks like it formed off a train from Taunton.

I have booked 1st class tickets for one of the HST's on the 18th May but it says coach E which as far as I know is standard on a HST, if it is actually a HST will reservations be placed on the day in the correct coach or will there be no reservations?

That's first class on a 5 car 800, if it is a HST then there'll be no reservations.

I've got a reservation with a first class advance in coach K on the 18.03 on 18th May, so they are / were issuing reservations.

Could that be first class on a 9/10 carriage class 800 though?
Looks as though at least the 1A83 bit of diagram 4 will be a Class 800 today as it is shown as being formed of 9 vehicles.
802113 on 1A83. No doubt due to covering the failed HST and overnighting at Penzance as mentioned up thread ^
It should then go ECS to North Pole and be back on an IET diagram this afternoon. (of course things may change between then and now)

I was aiming for that service as it seems that it is the only HST to be booked through the centre road at Bristol Temple Meads today - this would have been one of the last chances to do that move on an HST.

I'm booked into coach K on the 18.15 on that last day - 1st Advance. I've not checked a seat plan yet.

The 15.03 was 802 107
The 10.03 from Paddington and 15.52 return was also covered by a 9 car unit, 802 103.

I have booked first class on the 18:22 and it says coach E which would make it a 5/10 coach class 800 not a HST, coach K can be a HST or class 800 first class though.

The 1003 wasn't a booked HST for this weekend, there are no set diagrams for weekends, they're all STP diagrams for each weekend.

It's just that if it's an IET reservation for a HST services, they won't put out the reservations, as the seating plans are wildly different

well the points are about how the diagrams relate to the stock and tangentially the seat reservations that then ensue. Just as, for example, the haulage that would then ensue...
Tangentially is putting it mildly. If someone doesn't understand their seat reservation, then asking the TOC is a rather obvious thing to do about it, as opposed to expecting an answer here.
It looks like the reservation system thinks a 2x5 IET is allocated to the 18.22 to Hereford, which is unlikely to begin with unless the Cotswold platform extensions are finally open to passengers by then and diagrams change as a result, or someone has just not updated the reservation system yet to reflect the one-off use of an HST on May 18 - and if something goes bang on an HST that day, it could still end up as an IET anyway.

IET reservations can and are placed out on HSTs. I think all services are reserved as if they are a 10-car 80x (bar services via Oxford), but the reservations can be placed on to an HST or 9-car 80x if that is stock on the day.

Nope the services booked for 9 cars, have reservations for 9 cars.
I don't see how IET reservations can be put out on HSTs as there are much less table seats on HSTs, and they have a buffet, so reservations in K wouldn't be put out
I am currently on an HST vice a Class 800 and I can confirm there are no seat reservations.
