Also - don't forget that you will have Cross Country HSTs runnign through Taunton - on satsurdays this should be:Hi, I'm still kinda new to trainspotting, and completely new to the forum, so I'm still yet to get entirely to grips with workings and headcodes and such, so would anyone be able to tell me the remaining HST diagrams stopping at Taunton on the 4th and 11th of May. Any help is very much appreciated, thanks.
Edit - Allow me to also extend that 6th of May as well
I don't think it is right on the 11th May because of engineering work south of Birmingham so the Scotland to South West services are not running south of Birmingham and the Manchester to Bristol are extending to Plymouth. Also - don't forget that you will have Cross Country HSTs runnign through Taunton - on satsurdays this should be:
Southbound at : 10.17 and 15.17
Northbound at: 13.50 and 18.51
Not sure if they run extra ones on bank holiday saturdays
Full list shown on here: Tho I note not updated for the current timetable I think

or here along with all the other HST operator times

Hi GWHST107 - easiest to teach you how to do it. This is what I would do.
1) check the 'diagrams' page:
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/frequently-requested-diagrams.170615/#post-3666639
2) look at a rail map, check what route Taunton is on, where trains go to and from that pass through the station - I assume it is your local station so you probably know that already. eg Paddington to Plymouth trains pass through so from the above link you can see that monday to friday the 09.03 Paddington to Plymouth passes through and it is an HST (usually...)
3) Get a timetable - even just the paper ones from the station, or a pdf of them from GWR official website, of that route. See when the 09.03 from Paddington stops at Taunton.
4) go to the station to look at it.
Of course you can also look at webpages like Realtime trains 'advanced' http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced to see what stops at Taunton when etc, but get to grips with 1-3 above first and you will know.
But bear in mind these HST services are now subject to short term alterations and substitutions so keep an eye on this thread each day where alterations get reported, this is esp true for weekend days and the dates you asked about are saturdays so you need to keep an eye out on posts for saturday dates.
I expect the schedule for sat 4th may will be posted here soon, so then you will be able to work out what times they will go thru Taunton.
Hope this helps and i have not stated the obvious to you, if so apols.
1C08 just seen, 43018/170, assume it's doing the whole diagram?. Anyone confirm this is just today or the whole week?
On a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being not definite at all and 10 being very definite, what's the chance of the 1W02 and 1P65 being HSTs? I'm planning to see them and I want to make sure that they are before I go. Due to the nature of this thread, I know that everything is subject to change but surely someone will know something.May 04/05/06, some have been posted before but here they are all in one post:

Good to know as I've had an Adv ticket booked on it! Thanks. It’s a booked HST diagram so on your scale = 9
Obviously if there is disruption or set failure then operational requirements may dictate something else.
Excellent! Thank you. I assumed that all HST diagrams had ended on the Cotswold Line by now. It’s a booked HST diagram so on your scale = 9

Oh OK. Thanks for clearing that one up for me.Regular Cotswold Line operations ended in mid-February. The random HSTs seen on some weekends since then have been due to diagram changes because of engineering work, such as this weekend's block between Newbury and Westbury, which has resulted in the planned use of an HST this Saturday.
Does anyone know which set is doing the Hereford return today please? Thanks.
Cheers, helps narrow it downI can't help with identifying the numbers but 1A75 (the working that should form the 10.22 Padd Hereford) is formed by a GWR green PC and a standard "FGW" liveried PC at the other end.

Hi all,
Does anyone know which set is doing the Hereford return today please? Thanks.
Also, would I be right in assuming that today's 15:13 Hereford-Padd will be the last Hereford-Padd? I don't think the STP diagrams for next weekend include it and on the 18th it's just a one way Padd-Hereford.
Cheers,
FQ.

GWR Green PC now confirmed as 43004
Cheers. 171 reported elsewhere as the blue one.GWR Green PC now confirmed as 43004
Thought so, cheers. As things stand, it should be the last Hereford to Paddington HST run. As you say, on the 18th the planned workings mean the only HST at Hereford will be the 18.22 from London.
The 14.35 Great Malvern to Paddington that day is expected to be the last eastbound run of any sort on the Cotswold Line.

Bit late to need paignton for hstThanks as always for the details - I'm very tempted by that Carmarthen run on the Sunday seeing as I can't make the Flying Banana tour. It's a shame there's only one starting from Paignton and not any going to Paignton though, I'd love to do that run on an HST for the first and last time.
We're in the penultimate week of HST's now![]()
