You didn't get the trailing one?!?!?! I know that 321 was with 357 on Wednesday but have no idea for today.
I was meeting my girlfriend and was in the middle of the train so couldn't just say "hang on, gonna go ID the powercar", I'd have done it at York but was busy finding the guard, who in his own words said "oh aye kidda, git oan!"

You didn't get the trailing one?!?!?! ;). Not a good excuse - I've held mum at stations in the past so I could get the rear powercar!

Easier if the other person understands what you're up to! Not something I suspect Richard's other half would lol [emoji38]
Yeah, I've always made my parents wait but when you're dragging a suitcase and you know every power car on XC is dud anyway, it's a job for the TOPs request thread ;)

By it took some reading but that was an awesome ALR you done there, very productive indeed. It was the read I was expecting, I'd have been deed on my arse mate, however the winning figures are mightily impressive an all fronts, I'm sure your delighted and that's all that's important, bet the NREA/Platform 5looks fit to bursting. Congrats indeed.

Bet that Hotel floor felt like heaven, even so, I'd have still squeezed my way into the bed.

Least but not least

Indeed, was quite eventful!

Short successful move today, saw double winners 156457/156508 on the 1716 Newcastle to Glasgow so I'm having a short hop to MetroCentre to get them in :D

And I did think it was his last, he'll be more jealous when he sees that it turned up on his home turf as well!

Yeah twist the knife:lol:;) Errrm Joking aside(Through gritted teeth;)) I was at Work and even if I'd got word, it departing at 17.16, by the time I got anywhere near to seeing it, it'd have been at Prudda at least. Nevermind, I'm sure I'll catch up with it eventually. I won't hold my breath though.

I'm glad you enjoyed the read, LSG! indeed it was an amazing fortnight and the winners front was very healthy too.

I'm as surprised as you with the 156 though! I'm sure that's one of the ones that doesn't normally stray off the Oban and Mallaig circuit.

You could be right, as I seem to recall it being 156457 which took me and other forum members from Oban to Glasgow Queen Street (for 17043x to Edinburgh and an HST to York and 91 forward to London) in February 2006!

tech can translate, he's getting quite fluent in Geordie, his attempts at it are awful but he's getting there.

One of my best friends is a Geordie. He lived there until he was ten, then moved to Devon until he was 28 before emigrating to New Zealand. I spoke to him on Skype the other day and he hasn't lost a bit of his accent even though he's 42 now and left Newcastle 32 years ago. :)
I love it.

Just read the ALR report, and must congratulate you on a very sensible itinerary, combining many parts of the country, a bit of loco haulage and a goodly wedge of shack scratching with some R & R time with your girlfriend. Well done!

And, to annoy LSG, 156457 is dud for me too (which can't be said about most of the Scottish 156s) :)

Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the read. Indeed I was very conscious about getting the right balance because all of those sleepers do get very tiring!

I need a fair few SR 156s still, mostly those that go up the West Highland (I'd quite like 156485 as it forms an annoying gap in my lists)

So I was looking through some old photos today from 2013 and it seems that I bagged 142031+142035 for haulage on a Manchester to New Mills working (the 1014 most likely) back on 28/5/13.

Why is this significant? I thought I still needed 031 and it was my last bench seated Pacer to get, so a nice bonus to realise I don't actually need it! Leaves just 5 to clear from the class.

Score! I've recently had the opposite - I had 350112 marked off as had as early as 2014 but can't for the life of me find it in my notes so I still need the damn thing. 3 dezes to go <(

Nicely done Richard!

FQ: I have the same for 170638, must have had it more than a few years ago! Got nothing on RM for it and no coaches on it marked off, so must have been pre-2005!

I need to go through it again to be honest, I used loads of 175s back in that week yet I've only ever recorded using three!

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Well it's a West Midlands Day Ranger today. Doing it via Manchester for a change in order to score off Stafford to Wolves, and instead of the joys of 1E64 straight home, I'll have 9P93, 1H72, 1P62 and 1N33 as I'm going via Crewe and full anti-Voyager (unless the service goes belly up)

Also, 43308 was working the 5:59 to Kings Cross this morning. I wonder who that might interest!

I had the same with one of the GA 170s, for some reason I had ticked it into my book but after doing some research found no mention of it into my log sheet so it returned to my requirements.

Have a good day Richard :)

Cheers Kite, sadly my Manchester service is having a bit of a stagger so looks like I'm gonna be half an hour behind. On the plus side, looks like a Starship instead of a Pendo to Crewe!
