And probably keep the 314s a bit longer. They'll just short form the SDA trains as usual., nobody will even notice as any EMU is better than a 2 car 156.
Is tomorrow’s delivery still expected to run or will this be the last one this week? Thanks in advance
This puts visions of a loco dragging all 70 units up to Scotland at once.Is there a reason why a loco drags just a single unit........can't they all come at once?
The cost of 3 drags this week alone must be astronomical.

Is there actually going to be a delivery tonight? Typhoon 93 hasn't reported a set prepared for departure. And it hasn't left.
Presumably 67006 was the traction for this one as well?385113 is tonight’s delivery but it’s running late. Probably 90L start from Aycliffe.

Thanks for your dedication! That's a series of four-coach sets recently. I would have expected that Scotrail would have more need if three coach,, standard class units in the run up to the December launch of the Stirling services.
The 158 seats you refer to. Are those the Richmond monstrosities? The dunblane service has those. If you sit at a table and the seat opposite is occupied you need to sit side on with legs in the aisle. Whoever thought up the 158 Richmond scheme should be sacked.I guess it's a balance between comfort and space. I have no issue with the seat being thinner if it gives more legroom . My gripe with the 158 refurb seat is too big a cushion no legroom. But fine to sit on. Also if the seat design creates a deep crevice between seat back and base cushions that's where all the hairs crumbs and debris collects which makes the seat look dirty and which Scotrail don't clean well at all. I'm sure it's not beyond the wit of design to come up with a things he seat moulded as one unit that comfortable and easy to vacuum ? I will reserve judgement till I try a 385 but it seems it will be some time till we get them in Dunblane. Be happy with any train right now. No service for a whole week. No doubt works running over ?
Correct mate. Have said before and will say again. Scotrail only care about EG and faster service there. Tbf that is scrot gov direction tho.I Have not been on a 385 yet as they seem still to be as rare as hens teeth. So I must reserve judgment. But from the feedback todate, they don't sound like the"continental European feel" that Alex H was boasting about at a recent presentation. Leaving aside the 385 delays . The windows the brake problem teething troubles. The solitary show piece HST sitting idle at Haymarket it seems . The new timetable that delivers better for some but worse for others . I sense that Abellio are poised to replicate that unfortunate Scottish sporting talent. They will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! So much has been promised for so long that the reality already delayed seems fated to underwhelm the travelling public. More time needed perhaps. HST looks good , but years to get a fleet. The public will judge the 385 by the service in the whole. Not just its seats. If the service is not much better for all , the 385 reputation will be the train that marked the start of a diminished service for many or at best no noticeable improvement. The stop gap electric trains older and more comfortable will already have taken the gloss off a new train that has had a shaky start. . So all you have left is more capacity and faster journeys. I sense that aim too will also miss the target for many in the central belt.
Anything, park bench included would be better than the 158 richmonds. The four car sets are dedicated E&G are they not?
Can't say I'm a big fan of the 380 seats either, 170s seats are superior in my view.

Lots of trouble ahead . Have little confidence service will be good even with the new trains.
So do i but there are so many factors that can mess up a plan when the underlying infrastructure is already at max capacity.I hope the 385s are reliable otherwise 12tph through Newbridge Junction is gonna be a disaster. 10tph already is!
So you keep saying, in every thread where you have the opportunity. You've made your point several times now and it's becoming very boring.I hope the 385s are reliable otherwise 12tph through Newbridge Junction is gonna be a disaster. 10tph already is!
