Not bad going for a Saturday. I know for the Hampshire villages the easiest way is normally in the evening peaks on a weekday when the Exeter trains call giving 2tph allowing for linear hops in "no rover land"*

Yes, it was a bit tough with only an hourly service for much of the day. Not much opportunity to walk between stations to reduce the time taken either.

Heworth - Newcastle's worst station, beating Manors. Soulless and how not to do an interchange. Oh, and the 1 hour forced wait as trains pass there, and even if you had 1 minute, there are MASSIVE ramps.

I assume the entrance between the Pelaw bound Metro platform & Newcastle bound Northern platform is still firmly closed?

Although for those who pay when challenged on the Metro it was a large hole in the revenue protection considering the Metro station has barriers.

Yesterday:
Last Station in my Home County (Northamptonshire): Kings Sutton (Thanks to a Strange Kink in the County Boundry it IS in Northants not Oxfordshire!)

A Rare sight here was a Permit to Travel Machine still extant on the London Bound Platform. Seemed to be in working order but was unable to get a 'Souviner' Ticket from it as the coin slot was jammed up with lots of 10p Coins!

Back to London for work and stayed at the Premier Inn in Beckton. As there’s a bus between Manor Park and my hotel, I took the opportunity to tick off 4 TFL Rail stations having got HS1 to Stratford International and the DLR to Stratford Regional:
