I'm told 11093 was taken out last week from Kirkcaldy to Aberhill, and broke down on the Standing Stane Road with some type of burning smell, though there was NO fire. So, Mbonwicks thoughts about 11093 being at the end could be right.

UK-B should not be trusted for anything, as anyone can edit it, and there's no checks made on the legitimacy of any edits.

Strathtay only ever had 16 B7TLs native to them, and these were the only ones in East Scotland until the ex-First B9TL/B7TLs arrived earlier this year.

11093 is currently being stored at Aberhill depot. It was repainted and rebranded earlier in 2013. Perhaps 17515 is being prepared for another area? I remember a P reg Oly was prepared at Aberhill last year or year before and it went up north somewhere.

Does anyone know if this website http://www.uk-buses.co.uk/fleetlists/stagecoach/ is reliable for up to date information on the stagecoach buses?

I looked at arbroath and its showing that all olys and vykings are showing at 'depot', even though I've seen them all in service recently in arbroath. Also vyking 16924 ST52 NTL and E400 19688 SP60 DTO are showing at arbroath even though they are now in fife (19662 SP60 DRX is actually based at arbroath).

Also, didn't east scotland had any more vykings during their time on the 73 'tayway' route a couple of years ago than the current 16 based at either glenrothes, arbroath and dundee?

19668 is based at Arbroath as I saw it on Saturday on the 73

Yeah 19662/8 are the ex Fife E400s at Arbroath. They originally got 19668/9 for the increased PVR a year or so back, but 19662 was swapped with 19669 last summer after the Olympics.

It also amused me that Fife ordered E400's primarily 19668 and 19669 without Taco's....think it was 2 or 3 year ago they were in Perth quite a lot as Fife had contract work that need to be taco'd, so Perth had to send them a couple of their E400's

Perth even had a loan of 19050 for a couple of weeks while a Perth E400 was loaned out to Fife...

16545, which came from Cambridge. Made sense to repaint it at Aberhill as its just straight up the A1/M1. There's no obvious reason to send something to Perth for conversion, unless its for East Scotland when finished.

I am fully aware of where 16545 ended up, and yes - there was an OT service on Orkney this year. In addition, there were also new OT tours operating around Skye, Fort William and Inverness.

Shame it's not an extension of the X58 to St Andrews (but presumably that'd have been messier, operation wise).

X8 to mirror the local Kirkcaldy - Leven service, rather than to be tied into the "express" numbers - I think that "8" will be the lowest "big bus" number in St Andrews (i.e. ignoring the old S1, S2, S3...)

I just get the feeling that X8 may be every 30mins during the day between Kirkcaldy - Leven. I could be way way off! The coach does sit around for 50 mins doing nothing.

I doubt it will mirror the No8. It seems people of Methilhill, made it very clear there want to keep the fast bus to Lang Toun, so it should follow the same route as the current X27.

Here is a Q: Depot is on the other side of the bridge,so how will the coaches get from the bus station to the depot? or is the bridge not the issues?

I'm not suggesting that the route changes, just saying that the choice of number ("8") is presumably to bring it in line with the local services rather than "Xtwentysomething" (in line with the current service through Largoward) or "Xsixtysomething" (in line with the X60 from Kirkcaldy to St Andrews via Leven).

A few notes on buses around dundee/arbroath this week.

20 branded 19897 was noted unusually on the 73 'tayway' recently as seen here

27547 is now allocated at dundee along with 34213. (34217 is the only Dart allocated to arbroath) as seen here and here

Dundee based solo 47254 was noted in arbroath yesterday with a new paint job as seen here

And also teejay travel have now got a optare solo in the teejay travel livery as it was seen recently in arbroath.

My understanding is the B13s can go across the Bawbee Bridge without passengers i.e. not in service. But whilst in service the laden weight may exceed the weight limit.

I'm surprised that the new service between St.Andrews and Kirkclady has been numbered as X8. The 8 goes via Lower Methil/College Street, The 8A via Aberhill (Tower Bar) and the X8 will go via Methilhaven Road/Toll Bar. This will surely lead to passenger confusion.

Strange to see 53718 - SP61ABK, which is one of Strathtay's X7 Coast Rider's on the Citylink M9 from Glasgow - Aberdeen yesterday.

Very strange, as another forum had a picture of 53717 also on megabus duplication in Glasgow yesterday.

http://www.stagecoachbus.com/Customer-services-week13.aspx

Stagecoach are taking part in this year’s National Customer Service Week from 7th-13th October. A range of activities will be taking place throughout the week, designed to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy.

Activities taking place during the week include:

- Tweet the Directors - our Managing Director Andrew Jarvis, and Operations Director Mark Whitelocks will be covering our Twitter account (@StagecoachEScot) on Monday from 1pm - 5pm answering your queries and taking your feedback!

- 'Back to the floor' day - the same Directors are taking to the roads on Tuesday, carrying out various driving shifts across the area - keep a look out for them and say hello!

- Staff job swaps - two of our staff are swapping jobs on Wednesday to learn more about the other roles, how each interact with our customers and the behind the scenes planning that goes into our routes. The staff involved are James Kenneth, Inspector at Stagecoach Strathtay and Martin Gallagher, Commercial Assistant at our East Scotland head office.

- Breakfast goodies at Ferrytoll P&R - we'll be giving out free breakfast goodies at Ferrytoll on Thursday morning, enjoy breakfast on us before you make your journey to work!

- All week we're inviting you to nominate your customer service champion, who could be a driver, travel shop staff member or even someone you've spoken to at one of our depots. Send your nominations to [email protected] or post them on our Twitter or Facebook page. If you don't know their name we'd need to know the journey you were on, including date, time, stop and direction of travel, or better still, send us the driver/duty number and date from your ticket for us to trace.

I notice that it's Fife that's doing this....I couldn't see Gus Beverage the Perth OD doing this sort of thing...

Actually It does cover Tayside.

If people live in Tayside you can send a twitter to ask the Directors questions, since its in there remits.

As none of the staff mentioned in the article are actually Fife staff, I'm intrigued how you came to this conclusion.
There's also just the one OD covering all East Scotland, along with the MD and ED. There are managers at each depot, but no directors at that level.
