5B - Exeter to Barnstaple. The timetable now on the Stagecoach website (Promo-info/south west timetables) is not the one they published a couple of weeks ago. There must be some new subsidy. The latest timetable is now nearer the 315 with 6 full return trips instead of 8, but more than the 3+part runs of the original. It is now run by both Exeter and Barnstaple, but the first north bound starts at Crediton (06:??) and the last southbound ends at Torrington (at 23:30) and so where does that come from as it not a round trip.

I believe Barnstaple depot will be operating all the services (using E300s), with one vehicle going down to Crediton out of service in the morning to operate the first north-bound service of the day back up to Barnstaple and the last service of the day to Torrington will return to Barnstaple out of service.

They are 3 from Stagecoach East. 48032, 48034 and 48035. They barely saw service in Cambridge. Yes they are longer I believe.
they look longer in this picture https://www.flickr.com/photos/18511...hUTrAb-286sosy-26rmRYY-YZRNUy-VuQPyc-2oEup9Q/ (the local livery one is 48032)

Why enviro300s? I would expect enviro200s as that is what go bus use.

317 has had break downs and a double decker has substituted on 2 days recently. Were Giffard is omitted due to the low bridge, but it was not even mentioned on Twitter or the Stagecoach website. There was also a diversion due to road resurfacing at Merton. 317 ran to the back of Dolton then 5b to Torrington. That must have been carnage with a double deck in those lanes.

Can anyone explain why the various out of service journeys in North Devon are not run in service? Even if they only get one or two riders it's better than none.

There was a double deck again on the 317 this afternoon, via main road - is this the begining of the end for the Were Giffard service?

E200s 36221 and 36222 have received GWR 'Rail Link' branding for the Barnstaple-Ilfracombe-Combe Martin service under contract from Devon County Council and in partnership with GWR. 36221 has a full rear depicting one of the beaches along the route, with 36222 having a Class 158.

Is there a picture of 222 anywhere?

I see common sense has prevailed and the 6 and 6A work through on most journeys again from 3rd September.

However Bude is up for closure in September, so I wonder where the Bude starter will run from September as it’s a long dead run from Barnstable.

Do you mean Stratton out-station? Running it all from Exeter won't be a good idea, likewise running the whole of the Falcon timetable from Plymouth.

A lot of changes coming up, including increased frequencies on several routes and local operations in Tiverton taken over from Dartline. This suggests that Stagecoach has overcome its shortage of drivers but time will tell! There have been a few cancellations in Exeter this week, presumably drivers on holiday.

Do Stagecoach have a yard near Okehampton?

The 5a currently return as extra 6a's at the end of the day.

Weirdly Stagecoach have already changed all bus stop flags on the whole X38 route to 38 and removed the 88 and also they show Gold only beyond Ivybridge. 3 weeks early is strange.

Yet, in Exeter the vast majority of bus stop flags have not been updated to show the changes that occurred in October last year.

Pretty sure until recently, a bus stop flag in Exwick showed the bus routes through Exwick before the E. Hadn't been changed since the late nineties

Most, not all, were updated a couple of weeks ago, even the X30 was. Better late than never although with such a huge change it really should have been quicker. I see stagecoach are promoting the 4 and 4a as 7 buses an hour when on Saturday the 4 and 4a run at exactly the same time from Exeter St Davids to Honiton Road so 6 buses become 4!

Drivers seem to think it'll run dead all the way from Barnstaple. Also whilst certain buses will once again run through, drivers will swap buses in Okehampton.

No, it closed down along with Lapford when Citybus won the 315, 345 & 377 last October.

The E1/E2 routes in Exeter have had a downgrade. Used to be 7 15 plate Solo SRs, but now it's a random assortment of 4 E200s and 3 04 plate Solos.

Today, strangely enough, one working was operated by Torquay's 36240.

36240 is now an Exeter vehicle again. Newton Abbot outstation has been under the control of Exeter depot since Sunday, so a number of vehicles had to transfer to allow this.

48003, 48004, 48013 and 48014 have gone down to Newton Abbot but I can see this changing a lot.

The Solo SRs have been full too often leaving passengers stranded (including an elderly relative) with the 30-minute frequency. When they were first introduced frequency was every 10 minutes on E and F (now E1 and E2). The slightly larger E200s are welcome!

A previous Stagecoach SW MD used to proudly proclaim that all of Exeter's buses were Euro 6 compliant; I guess that's no longer the case!

There have been 04 plate Solos around for a while. 47091 and 47103 have been in Exeter for at least a year. The latter of which has never left
