London Liverpool Street has two cities in its name unlike Liverpool Lime Street which has the word "Lime" instead of "London".

Way to change the thread without my say-so by the way  First post amended accordingly...

I didn't realise we'd changed it? I've tried to make all my posts things you'd expect that aren't actually true...

Liverpool Lime Street is on the London Midland network when not being near London or in the Midlands whilst the West Midlands station of Coleshill Parkway is operated by LM but isn't on their network!

Several previous examples don't follow my initial idea, but oh well. Yours haven't been bad to be fair.

From Coleshill sorry! Parkway to Bristol Parkway. You would think that its name also derives from its being a parkway facility, but it actually came from the alternative name of the M32 - the Parkway...

Bristol Parkway - Warwick Parkway
Ones owned by NR and the others owned by Chiltern (and not just run!)

Warwick Parkway is a stop on Chiltern's new headline-time run between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone.

Unlike the significantly larger and more well-used Leamington Spa.

Brighton is a terminus with no through trains, unlike Hull which has some through trains despite being a terminus.

(By the way, if Gatwick Express counts—a very contentious point—Brighton actually has four TOCs serving it.)

Hull is a station with a service to London run by an operator named after it, unlike Wrexham which used to be.

Wrexham has direct services to Cardiff, unlike Fort William

Droitwich Spa and Birmingham Snow Hill may be on the same line, but the former is only served by 1 TOC whilst the latter is served by two.

I don't mean to be a drag, but looking at the OP I think it is meant to be something that you would expect the other station to have. I can't think of any logical reason Fort William would have a direct service to Cardiff!

That was the idea. Amending original post again...

Services from Thurso run to the nearest city. At present, services from Ebbw Vale Parkway do not.

You would expect most parkway stations to be relatively new; as is the case with Ebbw Vale Parkway, however this certainly doesn't apply to Bodmin Parkway.

For a town of its size, you wouldn't expect many InterCity trains to stop there, unlike much bigger Portsmouth which has none.

Owing to its location you would expect all services to terminate at Barrow, as is true in Portsmouth, but not so.

You would expect Barrow-in-Furness to be operated by northern due to it's location unlike New Mills Central which is operated by the operator you would expect.

That makes no sense. they're both operated by northern. It is the operator you would expect for both.
