Last year it was a bit of a novelty and got promotion on such as BBC Breakfast, this year less so, plus probably less interest from enthusiasts despite not being aimed at them last year but of course the alleged boring motive power was frequently substituted. Lets also remember the Northern Service was very limited last year where as this year its a full timetable and perhaps demand doesn't justify a five or six day a week service, and while the Staycation Express offers a much better experience the Northern fare between Skipton and Carlisle is half the price.
I think they perhaps missed a trick and should have branded it as another Pullman train perhaps the 125 Pullman or Staycation Pullman. The Blue Pullman livery and branding was inspired but the LSL livery is frankly a bit naff.
