Have to say it looks good in the livery imo.

Thank you so much. I'm getting 380 vibes from the front, honestly. I know it hasn't physically been changed, but the way it's been painted does it.

A cross between that and a 334. The latter is of course unsurprising.Haha thought it looked like the 380 but was wondering if it was only me

I think that's the 458s through and through.Looks smart, although can't help thinking it looks like SWR ordered a class 450 off Wish!
OT, but the Class 317s [as built] were worst for this. They were all numbered in the 3173xx range!Does it say 4580xx on the front or 4584xx? I know they're being referred to as the latter, but that doesn't always hold much weight; 153/9 for example was referred to as 153/0 originally.
Train 3. 458507/517 were the first two.Has 458505 come back since it left for Widnes in Feb? I seem to remember that was Train 2 being refurbd
And 158 is confusing as 1587xx and 8xx is /0, though the 1589xx is indeed /9.OT, but the Class 317s [as built] were worst for this. They were all numbered in the 3173xx range!

From earlier posts i think it's 458417.Still there this morning. Can anyone ID which unit it is?
Ah i seeTrain 3. 458507/517 were the first two.

458534 is in service...
It wasn’t before of course…458534 is in service...
Haha very nice adder that to the bookmarks too
They can’t run in multi, but the 458s can (now) couple to a Desiro mechanically to clear the line.Just out of curiosity, can a 458/4 run in multiple with a 450? Edit: I'm guessing not seeing as two different companies, but as a way to move a failed unit for example.
Well I was referring to the stock at Widnes being up to date458534 is in service...
Although the running gear has not changed much (other than the gearing), it may have updated control and customer route display software, so guess the refurb'ed 458 12 car will be tested on a test track at Widnes before the Waterloo - Portsmouth main line?.Any rough dates for a redone 458 to hit the SWR network?
No. I’ve posted a picture of the new seats twice - although this is a 51 page thread so of course I don’t blame you for not having seen! - which unfortunately I don’t have any longer to upload here again, but if you type in “New seat” by “TT-ONR-NRN” in the search function you may discover the image!Presume the 458 refurb includes: new carpet and seat covers, improved toilets and windows, to match 444 standards (just 1st class will have new seats)?.
Thanks, Did a search and found them in post #1,055 5 Dec 2022, so internally the refurbished 458s should look a bit like a refurbished 444 with 2 x 2 seating in both first and standard class? No. I’ve posted a picture of the new seats twice - although this is a 51 page thread so of course I don’t blame you for not having seen! - which unfortunately I don’t have any longer to upload here again, but if you type in “New seat” by “TT-ONR-NRN” in the search function you may discover the image!
