RE: above regarding 458419: Sorry my error - RTT indeed shows 1033 Weybridge to Waterloo as Class 450 not 458 !!
Better go to Specsavers !! Appologies to all, many thanks for correcting me.

Speaking of 458/4 first workings, I'm 99% certain I sighted 426 at Weybridge terminating platform yesterday morning, having operated an ex-Waterloo via Chiswick service, despite RTT claiming they were 415+420. Can anyone confirm if this unit did run out in service, and possibly if that was a first time?

I photographed 458 426 back on 8th November... It had 458 408 on the front, and the doors were released, passengers got on and off, plus it says "London Waterloo" on the destination indicator... so it was definitely in service four months ago.

I had a ride on 426 on 18 September last year, so just over 6 months ago.

Sad they are not keeping/converting 458529 and 458530 seems a waste to me.
Oh, and they have no further plans to use these down the Pompey road? The 458 4 cars I mean.
Seems like I will be trained on them again for the third time. One day course.Originally that wasn't going to happen.

By chance I caught 529/530 today from Wimbledon to New Malden on 2J33. Must be my lucky day, as I got 701034 earlier on, in the other direction, again by chance.

If the allocation data to RTT is correct, then 458414 entered passenger service as a 458/4 today. And Then There Were Three (402,404,419)

Despite there being only one diagram for a pair of 458/5 this week, two pairs are out again today with 458533 + 458536 covering a 2*458/4 diagram

Given that 458535 is the only one of the 5 remaining 458/5s that hasn't been in service this week, would it be right to assume that this is the one that's run out of miles and will go for scrap next?

None of the complete units have been scrapped - only some/all of the 5th vehicles removed from the refurbished sets.

529 + 530 didn't make it past Raynes Park this morning on the way to W'loo - "problem with the doors" (RTT)

But back in service / back on diagram with 09:54 from W'loo to Guildford!

Was this from platform 1? Seem to recall being stuck on this pair at platform 1 on January 30th when the doors had a problem.

If it is, is it the train/platform interfacing that causes a problem?

Thanks - yes, Plat 1 @ Raynes Pk - however, time was also lost at the preceding Worcester Park & Motspur Park stops (from what's on RTT)

458411 back in use and 458417 in use today. Should just leave 402/404/407/414/419.
Since the 14 March I have seen 402, 404 & 419 been working the Bournemouth TMD- Basingstoke - Bournemouth TMD training runs as a pair of units. Last Monday 402 returned to Wimbledon on 5Y51.

I believe these will soon around may be going up Reading? By that the 458/4s
Looks like the Hounslow loop and Weybridge via Hounslow trains are now all 458/4s.
Will there be enough left from the total of 28 so Reading can also go all 458/4s? (with other lines very slowly going over to 701s)

I don't think we need Reading to go all 458/4. All that's really needed is to replace the existing 455 diagrams.

There should be enough, will be some stock swapping, but before reading they'll definitely appear on the Windsor first.

Any 450 diagrams that can be replaced are useful too, as the 450s can then be used to replace 455s on main suburban services. I'd be surprised if the plan isn't to get the 458/4s fully utilised come May, on a mix of Reading, Weybridge and Windsor.
