Are buses having any work done to the interior or is it just repainting them yellow?

I assume at some point anything staying in the long term will need screens and speakers fitted for the auto announcer

First of the Diamond Bus North West Bee Network branded Enviro 200 MMCs have arrived. 20600 has been registered as YX73PKY, with buslistsontheweb.co.uk having also confirmed 20601 to be YX73PKZ.

Streetdeck 3407 has been refurbed so that would suggest that they all will. I imagine the B5LHs will get refurbed, and perhaps also the newer B7 Eclipses/E200s.

A quick Bolton update, E200 4032 has now been repainted into yellow (pics below) with 4040* selected as the next one through the paintshop...

(Photos show E200 4032 inside Bolton paintshop after repaint into full Bee Network livery).

*Subject to change

Any truth on the rumour that TFGM have placed an order for Volvo BZLs for the busway?

The demo (2990) is here for evaluation as a "potential" for Vantage replacements. As far as I've been told by senior management, no order has been made *yet* and although it cannot be used on the busway itself, it is being scrutinised from top to bottom.

One thing I did learn about it, is that a BZL is roughly the same price as an Electric E400City and personally, the BZL is a far superior vehicle...

So as with everything else, watch this space and wait and see

definitely, although anything is better than a BYD E400

Would there be any reason why 2990 (The Demo) wouldn't have been out in service yesterday?

B7RLEs 69500/69501 left Lawrence Hill Depot, Bristol on Friday for transfer to First Manchester via the Adderley Green paint shop - presumably being made ready for use at Rochdale from March.

69505, 69506, 69507, 69509, 69510 & 69511 also parked up surplus at Bath, I presume these will follow, all are 11-plate.

There are a further 7 B7RLEs spare at Bath but they are 59-plates and maybe considered too old? 69437, 69443, 69444, 69445, 69446, 69447 & 69457.

Oldham native 69529 also at Adderley Green paint shop presumably for a coat of yellow.

I bet Adderley Greens painters are enjoying painting something a bit different!!

Are we any clearer on Stagecoach's plans yet? have they put in a Single Decker order or any new order at all as per the two Tranche 1 contract winners?

Not heard of one other than the Mellor minibus order (which is currently up in the air)... most focus has been on the 50 E400City Electric deckers being delivered to Oldham.

I read (https://www.route-one.net/news/volvo-bzl-to-form-stagecoach-stockport-170-e-bus-fleet/) that 170 Volvo BZLs were due for delivery to Stockport depot this summer, it'll be interesting if Stagecoach don't win back the garage...

I am sure I read that they were being ordered by Stagecoach on behalf of Greater Manchester (there's certainly local funding) so the plan is that they will stay at Stockport regardless of who gets that depot. Alas I can't find a source right now, and all the articles I have seen are a bit vague on that element. But it must have been planned. Stagecoach are cofunding the buses and will presumably get some return back on their investment if they do lose the depot.

If the Volvo double-deckers for Stockport are only being delivered in Summer, that will lead to a shortfall of buses for the new franchises. Originally the plan was to move most of the existing recent fleet from Stockport to Queens Road and Oldham Depots to replace the fleet at those depots, as very little at Queens Road would be suitable.

Indeed, if GoAhead are leaving any vehicles at all for Stagecoach, and at First Manchester at Oldham no double-deck vehicles are transfering at all to Stagecoach. So that might mean at least short term there will be a need to find extra vehicles, whether to place at Stockport or other depots. We still have no idea either about what cast off vehicles, from other Stagecoach fleets, might enter the new Manchester franchise, and the start is March 2024. So should be interesting to see what happens and what moves in, in the Spring and Summer.

The real problem is the number of deckers Stagecoach has at its Manchester fleets that are 58 and 09 plate, which will be too old to use on Franchise routes.

I've been told that the E400s left at Wigan are being repainted (potentially refurbished but not confirmed) to be used as a pool stock for the upcoming franchises so that might be the answer...

Considering the situation with the Mellor deliveries are up in the air at the moment any ideas what vehicles will First get to operate their services from Rochdale from March?

Not yet, it was in for nearside rear corner repairs then to us for paint touch up... (Picture attached)

4040s paint job has gone out of the window due to operational difficulties and plan B is currently being drawn up!

How many E400s are left at Wigan? Are they hybrids?

Last time I was at Wigan, there were easily 20 odd still there but I was told by management that some had been trailered out by Thorntons for work... I wonder if TfGM bought them off Stagecoach?

I know some Hybrid E400s were bought by TFGM recently off of Stagecoach so that would tally up.

Turns out what I have listed 20604 as is actually 20625 according to bustimes.org
Diamond don't seem to be in any rush to apply fleet numbers to the vehicles themselves (this being one with none at all) so it's hard to tell if it's even tracking with the right machine or one originally intended for a later vehicle.

The fleetnumbers are inputted into the machine by the Driver and/or Traffic/Engineering... I doubt they'd have bought machines just for the new ones (and certainly not preprogrammed), rather taking them off the bus a new one replaces before it leaves for another opco..?
