Crowhurst for Bexhill West, the listed station building of which was the prototype for the SuperQuick terminus station building kit which appeared on numerous OO/HO gauge model railway layouts in the 1960s, '70s and 80s.

Next up:

Clue 1: This station is served by only one TOC.

Afraid not. Didn't Kemble originally have four platforms.....two through and a bay each side for the two branches?

Clue 4: This station was the junction for a long-closed branch line.
Not too sure…must admit my knowledge of British railways is pretty sketchy pre 1970s! Okay let’s try Axminster?

Sorry....not that one either.

Clue 5: Although the original listed 19th century signalbox is still extant on the former island platform, the signalling at this station is now controlled from a 'Portakabin'-style building on the opposite side of the line.

Well done! That is correct. Had you not guessed it correctly....the next clue would have been:

Clue 6: The name of this station sounds like an instruction to the driver of a train approaching an open level crossing.
