I wish I could find an answer re the Barnstaple Line without robbing Peter to pay Paul. FGW can do little about it as DaFT control stock allocations and little has been done to meet growing demand over the years. In any other industry, capacity would be increased to meet demand but not in the Rail Industry the way it is set up.

I have to take my hat off to FGW for managing to get hold of some 159s to run extra services this Saturday, and also lengthening the majority of other services on this line to 5 coaches. These trains were well loaded but everyone managed to get a seat. Well done FGW on the capacity. Shame about the large delays though but you can't have it all!
