Just for info TfW have bought 4 rakes of Mk4's to bolster their rakes from 4 to 5 coaches. As they are in Grand Central livery they will need a complete rebrand and repaint before they can be used.

That's only part of it. As was reported several weeks ago, they've bought the three sets they already have, as well as the former Grand Central sets, and three TODs to make the existing sets the same formation as the ex-GC sets, plus a spare of each of TOE, SV, and DVT. Total of 45 vehicles, to form 7 sets of 5+DVT.

As they are in Grand Central livery they will need a complete rebrand and repaint before they can be used.
Does the wrong shade of pigment prevent them being used? TfW seem to be happy using the Mark 4s in VTEC livery.

It'll be a little bit of a shame if they don't use them before rebranding, or nobody will have ever been a passenger on a "Grand Central" Mk4.

True, but the VTEC livery is very similar to the TfW livery. The black GC livery is absolutely nothing like the TfW livery. But of course they still could be used with the GC branding removed and TfW logos & stickers on the sides, as we've seen with the 'temporary' ex-EMT 153s.

It wouldn’t be so bad if the DVTs were actually white instead of a very light grey - they stick out like a sore thumb.

They arent staying like that though, the DVTs will be getting advertising livery for charity.

In theory the ex GC MKIVs don't need repainting before they can enter service, of course. However, we're a long way away from their being any point in introducing them into service - because we're a long way away from having enough crews trained up on the MKIVs to run more than 3 sets at a time.

Given they're going to need modifying anyway (all the MKIVs need SDO adding and the ex GC fleet also need to be able to work with the 67 AAR system), they might as well rebrand them at the same time.

Just passed Crewe CS and saw a 158 in there so interior refurbs must be continuing
Even with the fleet shortages, all refurbs will be continuing until all of them are complete. Currently 1-2x 150, 1x158, 1-2x153 & 1x 175 are out for refurb at any one time. I believe the latest 158 is 158841.

Had it suggested that 150240, 150242 and 150254 are all now in TfW livery - anyone able to confirm please?

Saw 150240 split outside Pullmans at Canton earlier so looks like its in the refurb process next
Lovely stuff - was it in the new livery or is that generally done after the internal work is complete?

The coach i saw was still outside in arriva livery although i do believe they are vinyled towards the end so the interior may already be done.
