Yes, mentioned in #47 and #67.Have we had Olympia yet? Originally Kensington and then Kensington (Addison Road), it was renamed after the Olympia exhibition centre across the road, opened in 1886.

Bull and Bush is more of a nickname due its location. The original name planned for the station was "North End"I'm not sure this one has been mentioned before, but a station that never was (apart from platforms) would have been named after a pub - Bull & Bush between Hampstead and Golders Green on the Northern Line (sounds like a song....).
Ah yes.....shame (what an anonymous name North End would have been - apologies of course to our Preston friends).Bull and Bush is more of a nickname due its location. The original name planned for the station was "North End"
The music hall song "Down at the Old Bull and Bush" is actually about that pub!I'm not sure this one has been mentioned before, but a station that never was (apart from platforms) would have been named after a pub - Bull & Bush between Hampstead and Golders Green on the Northern Line (sounds like a song....).
Beasdale on the Mallaig branch of the West Highland line is named after Beasdale house I believe.

Surely it's named after the glen in the locality (Gleann Biasdail) and in any event, isn't the big house in the area, not actually Arisaig House, once used for SOE training during WW2?
I concur. Post #145 refers.Named after the dale and built to serve Arisaig House.
Cheers,
Ewan
Is Redcar British Steel allowed? Granted the station itself is temporarily closed and I think they’re in the process of demolishing most of the site in order to redevelop for other businesses.
I am also a little surprised that James Cook is the only hospital that’s been mentioned. I expected there would be two or three more.
I would say so!City Hospital in Belfast. Does that count?
