Passed through here the other day and thought to myself that this station could be a good candidate for this thread.

Darsham has 199 mentions...

Brampton (suffolk) 167

BUT I MAY HAVE A WINNER

Trimley in Suffolk before this post had been mentioned a grand total of ONCE. Beat that if you can.

In what respect does the ScotRail franchise count as a government owned railway?

They own Prestwick Airport Station don't they?

I'm sure, at least when it opened, it was a privately owned station on the national network.
