I thought Glasgow was the northern terminus of the WCML?

Though I'm not sure what you're getting at I'm afraid.
The post said "when the WCML was electrified north of Glasgow". I agree that Glasgow is the northern terminus of the WCML so I was wondering what you meant. I guess my negatives were confusing, sorry!

Oh! Understand you now.

The 'of' should be a 'to' - as in: "when the WCML WAS electrified north to Glasgow".

An unfortunate typo on my part, now edited.

I can remember when Hemel Hempstead was served by InterCity services, pretty sure that was in the late 1980s
