I thought Glasgow was the northern terminus of the WCML?

The post said "when the WCML was electrified north of Glasgow". I agree that Glasgow is the northern terminus of the WCML so I was wondering what you meant. I guess my negatives were confusing, sorry!

Oh! Understand you now.
The 'of' should be a 'to' - as in: "when the WCML WAS electrified north to Glasgow".
An unfortunate typo on my part, now edited.

I can remember when Hemel Hempstead was served by InterCity services, pretty sure that was in the late 1980s

None of those are County Towns, though, Preston is the administrative County Town (city) of Lancashire, and Lancaster is the ceremonial/traditional one. While the County Town (city) of Cumbria is Carlisle.
I have no recollection of that? (and Hemel Hempstead isn't a county town either)
