If Trentbarton are not taking fares, then the ticket machines don't really need to be switched on, so the ticket machines are switched off, causing the tracking outage.
A lot of operators use the ticket machine log on/off times as drivers’ hours rules compliance material

It’s a very big no-no to run a bus in service with the ticket machine logged off, unless physically faulty, at several large operators

First day of the changes, one of the ex H1s has conked out with 846 replacing it, notts+derby are running a solo & Mini ADL on the route & nothing from wellglade is tracking… farce.

Where as Arriva everything is tracking, going smoothly other than some delays due to the A50 bridge works on the A38.
You'd think they would get a shift on with those A50 bridge works. Often causes chaos.

The ticket machines are only showing the previous trip apparently. Not really something they can solve but are trying to fix it!

Also from what I've seen there is alot more passengers getting on trentbartons runs than arrivas

As well its nice that trent are even offering to run the service early and for free. They didn't need to do it but have chosen too so there's not really any point to complain especially when it's free
Yes but those on Arriva are paying. What will happen next week, post January if it lasts that long?

Think it was 734 that conked. Hope they don't do it in Albert Street. Understand 726 and 828 are joining the party soon.

From what I understand 726 and 828 are on loan to notts and derby whilst they operate the original x38. 270 and 471 out today. "00" on the hour trips (which are on pre and post 7th sept timetable) are not duplicated.

All these spare buses, ready to use. I am sure it will give passengers confidence that all their buses will run. Can't use shortage of buses or drivers when you do this. People won't accept it. Of course if you take a bus off a route where you are the only operator, say a Mango bus off Red Arrow, to run a free X38, it would not look good.

Saw 828 running on the X38 yesterday in just its base cyan ex-H1 livery. Does anyone know what it's future will be - will it join the ex H1s on the X38 or will it be cascaded down as a spare or to other routes?
Also, not sure which bus it was but at around 17:20 yesterday (Monday) there was an X38 parked up in the former bus stop on Manor Park Way next to Aldi. Does anyone know why that was up? I assumed it decided to give up but when I returned about an hour later it was no longer there. Perhaps it was being held there to try and regulate the service from Burton, as the A38 was a bit clogged up on the way to Derby.

In time, the Trentbarton offering will probably be 5 refurbished former Ilkeston Flyer Volvos, replacing 726/732-734/828 on the X38. It must look rather strange having the X38 and the H1 buses, so close together in Derby in the same colour.

It is actually a display for Specsavers. Other motorists are invited to have their eyes tested. It starts with "Look, this is a bus. It is big and comes in several different colours. It is heavy, and usually comes off best in an accident. So, dear car and van drivers, open your eyes, and stop driving into them".

What is the goings on?
Understand there was some form of bus meeting at Quad, involving the Mayor and other bus operators, CPT etc

Optare Versa 818, is the latest Trentbarton bus to carry the bright red generic livery. It is seen pictured here on Meadow Road depot, and is expected to have its MOT on Friday. My picture, my copyright...

i would imagine 483 to join 480?
I believe so, but with the way how things have been changing lately!

In other news 816 has gone to Langley Mill now presumably for repaint / refurb and won't be returning to Sutton when complete.

Possibly something for catch the bus month?
It was for the CPT launch of The Ecomomic Impact of Local Bus Services in Derby.

I'd imagine post COVID, significantly less people shop in Derby anymore, and this had led to more shops closing, which then has a further knock on effect. If they aren't shopping in Derby, they won't be catching the bus there.

I think Notts and Derby Nordic fleet number 20 doesn't really want to go for scrap. After the attempt to remove it by low loader yesterday was unsuccessful, today it awaited a tow for several hours .. My picture of 20 outside Derby depot.

And Nordic 20 is back in the depot . It's final journey delayed for another day

I had no idea 20 was set to go for scrap. A while back someone was trying to flog one of TM Travel's former Nordics off on eBay for at least 25 grand!

SA52DWC was sold to an operator near Manchester AFAIK, it now has a Neoplan front. I think they bought it from Cambridge Buses though

Can anyone shed a light on what happened to 453 R27BUS, because I recently saw it in the Oker Travel yard at Longcliffe, the same place preserved Scania 646 is kept. Is it preserved, or just stored?

EDIT: Turns out it is preserved.
It's a fairly old picture though, and it's in a bit of a state, so who knows if it'll last. I hope it does as it's the last of the original batch left.

Yes, but how many other "preserved" buses there are still preserved.
