So basically its a Zigzag that costs less but its intended purpose is for people want to travel all day (Between derby and burton) and be able to get back to Burton when the X38s have finshed for the day. Belive it or not now people know they are quite popular.
So, less than £4 then.

£3.50 on arriva & its able to be used across the whole derby network!
The adverts on the buses say its only for the "x38 adult day ticket". Nice to see as well that its still full price on the app (£6.60). As well this is only available till the 31st of October!

Yes I think the £3.50 ticket is only valid on arriva x38. Their Derby area day ticket now covers x38 too (£5 something).

No idea about the cheaper zig zag that's valid on Trent x38, villager and V3 though.

272 has been tracking on the uni shuttle today. Looks like Kinch have managed to run a full service today even with the Sprint back to every 5/10 mins.
Just wait until the Versas or the DRT minibuses start breaking down again...

The DRT minibuses managed one diagram between them and one versa broke down with another off the road with only a round trip on the 2 missed a consequence. In theory they now have 3 Solo SRs as spares for the town and uni services and a spare E200MMC for Skylink but I doubt this will be enough longer term unless 150 gets fixed sooner rather than later or the versa’s dramatically improve. 4 spares may on paper be just about sufficient if all servicing was done at weekends so that only broken buses aren’t in service on weekdays but given the demands of the Skylink in particular it’s completely unrealistic to run such a service with a requirement for 94.4% vehicle availability to prevent the town spares (which are completely unsuitable for he route in any case) being needed.

Ah well, maybe Kinchbus will get four ex Mickleover Enviro 200MMCs, maybe even 101 to 104. With Skylink being a profit maker, it should get extra buses. Elsewhere, Notts and Derby Solo SR 510 has gone to TM Travel, no doubt as replacement for Enviro 200MMC 272.

If they do get replacements, maybe they'll send back 109 and 174/5 to their respective depots!

They don't just have 3 extra Solo SRs and a small E200MMC (which will no doubt not get off the sprint & campus shuttle!) remember, with them having 2 spare longer MMCs (107/8), a spare Volvo and Citaro 906 (probably not for much longer but can be forgotten!). As for the DRTs, rarely more than one is off at a time (unless of a serious case of flooding) which shouldn't be too big of an issue! Also correction, 151 is off, not 150.

As just mentioned they do have more than 4 spares, they have 8 as far as I am concerned. Skylink will probably end up either getting those ex-micks or new buses at this rate, with how many miles they're clocking up!

The Skylink Enviro 200MMCs seem to clocking up mileage at about 90k a year, so at some point, I would have thought they might be downgraded to lesser annual mileage routes. Just think the pink Mickleover Enviros, some years older have a lot less mileage.

The small E200MMC is certainly not spare given the Loughborough uni services have a PVR of 7 and there are only 6 remaining slimline solos following the demise of fleet number 7.
The other examples are arguable but vehicles that are long term off the road certainly aren’t spare in any conventional sense.

Is Solo 7 a write off then?

Derby based Opatre solo 483 should of or will be moving over to Sutton today(25/09) or very soon to join sister 480.

To be fair, I doubt Derby will miss it... They could not run a full service on all routes before, so even less likely to in the future. The shocking thing is, nearly everyone I know that used the bus now no longer does so....They live their lives differently now. I look forward to walking now...Does make me laugh though when I see all the Red Arrow coaches lined up, unavailable for service, necessitating at least four Mango spares on that route. Can they not mend the coaches, can they not afford to mend them, or is it just cheaper to run an Enviro 200 on the route? Hey, maybe you should have sent 491.

Notts and Derby (ex Lothian) Enviro 400, fleet number 1403 is back from painting in green and blue.

669 on Skylink Notts was packed heading into Nottingham. Its now over 40 minutes late heading towards the Airport.
Is this because of Goose Fair, or because of the tram strike?

What about the Skylink Notts Enviros, do they accumulate mileage the same way? They're 7 years old at this point. Scary eh?

I would imagine that they wouldn’t clock up as much, seeing Skylink Derby is every 15 mins and a considerably long route. I’m sure both Skylink routes are on track to get new buses (more MMCs likely), as ex mickleover buses were replaced recently.

It isn't as long a route anymore, but it still runs overnight, so that would rack up the mileage. Plus there's still the Coalville leg that adds a substantial amount of distance.
Bustimes suggests that 121 will be running for nearly 24 hours straight tonight!
