I personally think it would be doing great, long distance buses seem to be doing well after COVID, especially in the leisure market which this would generally cater for.
I doubt it. It was only full when they had an offer on for £1 a journey, and the service was only introduced to dig at the Pronto service as Stagecoach wanted to operate it fully, which they got in the end. For the Designer Outlet, it's just easier to drive

I never saw too many passengers on it either. Plus I imagine it was difficult to operate with the traffic on the M1/A38 and having to use Junction 28

The fare was 1p a journey during the first week and needless to say the double decker buses were turning passengers away due to demand! The minute the fares went back to normal the same buses had about 10 passengers on max but thanks to covid it was then axed within weeks of starting.

However, I do wonder if given time and a few tweeks this service would have found its place in the market.

But how many were ENCTS passengers?

Wasn't it stated on here at the start of the year that some vehicles were having orange fronts applied for the X38 service?

What's happened to these, did it actually happen? Are they in store somewhere pending introduction?

They are definitely taking their time with it, but it's still going ahead. There are a number of orange/brown Volvos at Langley Mill that are nearly ready to enter service

They are very, very nearly ready to enter service but have had to take to second stage whilst other projects have been ongoing in the compact ESU department.

I imagine there will be a grand relaunch of X38 with buses on display on Derby Market Place for photo opportunities, company representatives in attendence, timetables being given out, freebies for kids etc.
Actually, the best thing they could do would be to introduce a special X38 return fare of, say, £5, that would capture a lot more passengers from either end and cause a headache for Arriva who's drivers would have to explain "Sorry, not valid on this one, you'll have to get a TrentBarton".

All ADLs other than the original Mickkleover & nines batch. Plus the Volvos fitted with Aesys too.

Yet still £1.50 more expensive than arrivas day ticket offering, which is still £3.50 for X38 & all Derby local services, but from what you said it seems like you’d want Arriva drivers to have a ‘headache’ strange thing to say.

Is it?

It seems to be hidden - if I look on their website I'm offered a £6.60 ticket for just the X38 or £5.40 for the Derby area.

(Screenshots below show these prices on the Arriva Website)

Enviro 100 EV demonstrator AD24 BUS is currently on Loughborough University Campus. Destination display had "Route Testing - Central Connect".
Could the E100EV be Kinch's preferred bus?

Would appear ND solo 471 is running a service called the V3S. Can’t find anything about it anywhere does anyone have a clue what it’s for?
