A more recent one here...
Pepsi Max with ginger. I think this was just a trial, but it was delicious... however it was only stocked in certain branches of Morrisons and Sainsbury... unlike the vile syrupy raspberry variant that you find everywhere.

I believe it was a seasonal product and so was discontinued towards autumn. Our Tesco stocked it and so did the likes of Ocado, if I remember correctly. It was very nice though, I am a sucker for anything gingery.

On the subject of discontinued seasonal products, a very recent example was Pumpkin Spice Baileys, usually sold in the Autumn and Winter but I haven't seen any either this year or last.

Apologies if these have already been mentioned but a few more chocolate bars that have disappeared:
Fuse - made by Cadbury I think, chocolate bar with biscuit, raisin and fudge pieces in.
Maverick - made by Nestle, quite similar to the Fuse but more chewy from memory
Drifter - these have only been discontinued recently, was gutted when I found out.

Callard and Bowser's butterscotch: loved this as a kid, think my grandfather bought it for me (none of this Werther's nonsense for him.) I like chocolate, though prefer to avoid it, but have never liked anything that might be called 'sweets' beyond the very odd exception like C&B.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.

I definitely mentioned the first two but I had no idea about Drifters. Damn.. I really liked those.

I don’t know if we have any (ex) smokers on here, but I do remember Players No 6 being very popular in the 60s and 70s. Indeed my mum often sent me with a note to the shop to get some. Times change!

I’ve used the B&Q one successfully, but about 3 years ago now, same reason I wanted the new strimmer to use the same extension lead as a few other items, in my case a grass rake and a hedge trimmer. It’s all lasted very well, I think the hedge trimmer over 30 years now…

The B&Q set have some good reviews but the recent ones are mostly bad so maybe some issue with recent production.
I was trying to work back to when my Qualcast Concorde mower, the design with the rear box, was bought. It was from Woolworths and definitely no later than 1987 but I think 1985 as in 1986 Woolworths closed some stores and reduced the size and range of products in others.

If B&Q sell a set that's both plug and socket then buy two and replace the plug end on both the strimmer and the mower? (Assuming that the socket end goes on the extension).

Yes the socket end goes in the extension and plug on appliance. From some recent reviews the B&Q set don't mate properly as a pair, the issue is not just with one B&Q and Black & Decker original part.

I'd change all to a different design as supplied with a new strimmer since initially I don't really want to tamper with it but I have yet to establish if there is one and if so separate plugs and sockets are available.

Lyons Maid ice cream, the main competitor to Walls when I was growing up, but to my childish tastebuds slightly inferior, the exception being the Mivvi lollipop which contained ice cream and came in strawberry and (my favourite) raspberry flavours. There was also an Elderado brand of choc ice that was sold in certain cinemas and the very occasional sweetshop, and was peerless in my estimation. About a mile down the road from where I grew up a Canadian firm called Nielsen's had an ice cream factory, but I never saw the product on sale. By the way, I've read that Lyons Maid has made a comeback under new owners, but its presence is underwhelming.
Tutti Frutti ice cream. Nobody make it any more. I'm sure Walls used to as I can remember eating copious quantities of it from the beach cafe at St Brelades bay on holiday in Jersey in my teens. I saw tutti fruitti on the menu board at an ice cream kiosk in Cromer a couple of years ago and was most disappointed when they said "Oh, we haven't got any of that".

Walls Tutti Frutti - you're absolutely right. I liked it too.

I liked them too, plus I liked Nutty chocolate bars in the early 80's - I think there were Rowntree's as well.

They were cheap, probably because they were also very small! The opposite end of the spectrum from king size ....

My first mobile phone was a Phillips Fizz back in 1996 (I think). £16.99 per month for 15 minutes of free calls, and nothing else

Has anyone mentioned Lymeswold cheese? Why make up a cheese name that could easily be turned into Slyme Mold? Own goal time.

Did you mean to say "the opposite end of the spectrum from superkings"? At least nowadays, what's called "King Size" is the standard with superkings (small S, to distinguish from the JPS Superkings brand!) being the longer.

As a slight contradiction of the "shrinkflation" thread, for some reason some packs of 20 are the same price whether in kingsize or superkings- Rothmans for example.

It's forty years since I stopped smoking, so I'm obviously out of touch with the terminology! Of course these days most of us never see cigarette packets, so I hadn't realised that sizes had increased so much.

The last brand I smoked regularly was John Player Special, with the black and gold packets matching the JPS Lotus formula one cars. Those were called king size at the time. I think I quit when they went over £1 a packet.

Players No6 were much smaller than those. There was also a Players No10 brand at the time, which might have been smaller still.

I haven't sold any cigarettes since the plain packaging and the requirement to have them out of sight were introduced, but when I worked for the Co-op there were a couple of brands which were still in smaller sizes - Embassy Regal (blue stripe) and Embassy Filter (red stripe); I don't recall anyone buying them.

After initially mentioning the ginger Pepsi, I checked Amazon to see if they still had any...

They did, but were asking £12.99 for a pack of 6 330ml cans! <(

I gave up even longer ago but I recall No6 as being evil things while No10 were so tasteless that you didn't notice that you had smoked anything and lit up another straight away.

I think JPS were a little after my time. When I could afford it I went for B&H

Quite common with discontinued products, you get the occasional chancer who buys some of the last remaining stock and hopes someone is desperate enough to pay silly money for it.

The Glenfiddich Liqueur I mentioned in an earlier post is another (more extreme) example, there are a few places online asking £400 or more for a bottle, can't remember the price before it was discontinued but it definitely would have been less than £20.
