I know that LNER send their remaining 91s to Leeds and i think a daily service to york but they dont send them furthur then york and scotland now?
Why is this?
Why is this?
Thank you very muchPrimarily so that Newcastle and Edinburgh crews don’t have to sign them, and so they don’t have to worry about Hitachi refusing 225s at Craigentinny and Heaton. There’s also only a small fleet left and since they’re maintained in Leeds it makes sense to concentrate the few units they have on routes that go there.
Replacements due in 2027, imagine they'll be withdrawn sometime around then. 225group have the diagrams if you're interestedDo you happen to know when they will be withdrawn please.Hoping to go and ride behind a few.Thanks.
Thank you for that, plenty of time then,.CheersReplacements due in 2027, imagine they'll be withdrawn sometime around then. 225group have the diagrams if you're interested![]()
The 91s are all meant to be either scrapped or preserved, im pretty sure 2 are already preserved and 2 (91117 and 91120) have been sold to europheonix a while ago. from all we know know they are going to be replaced with tri-mode trains under TOPS, 897s very simmilar to 397s just tri mode.Do you happen to know when they will be withdrawn please.Hoping to go and ride behind a few.Thanks.
Hitachi would have nothing to do with Heaton access, that’s Northern.Primarily so that Newcastle and Edinburgh crews don’t have to sign them, and so they don’t have to worry about Hitachi refusing 225s at Craigentinny and Heaton. Why was this scrapped again? Sorry if already discussedIn fact for the abandoned 2024 timetable 225s were booked to return to Newcastle on one or two of the new London to Newcastle services. Wether they would have stabled at Heaton or wether the diagrams would have had them returning to Neville Hill I do not know.
No one could agree on timetablesWhy was this scrapped again? Sorry if already discussed
Heaton is a Northern depot, if it wasn't for the crewing issues it would be the logical backup for Neville Hill.so they don’t have to worry about Hitachi refusing 225s at Craigentinny and Heaton
The diagrams I saw were daytime return trips from Kings Cross so would have returned to Neville Hill each night. The timetable that's being progressed for this December isn't too dissimilar although whether 91s to Newcastle still features in that I'm not sure.In fact for the abandoned 2024 timetable 225s were booked to return to Newcastle on one or two of the new London to Newcastle services. Last diagrams I saw had 5/10 Azumas in place of 91s on the Newcastle extras. But that was 9 months ago.Heaton is a Northern depot, if it wasn't for the crewing issues it would be the logical backup for Neville Hill.

wasn't scrapped, just postponed to December 25No one could agree on timetables
I never said scrapped!wasn't scrapped, just postponed to December 25
Set swaps aren't unheard of, were you on it? Always a nice upgrade though when it does happenOne was on the 4:16pm to Leeds from Doncaster last Thursday, a board I have previously only seen AZUMA’s on
Thought that had been changed to a 10-car Azuma? My understanding from a reliable source is that there will be a 91 diagrammed to work to Newcastle each day, from the December 2025 timetable.
Nope.Thought that had been changed to a 10-car Azuma?
I guess we'll see come DecemberNope.
Top Man! I’ll have to get out for pics when it’s startsFrom what I’m told, the original suggestion had been two 91 diagrams to Newcastle per day.
One is now changed to an Azuma. The other is still a 91.
