Gordon Strachan who nobody else will employ given the Scotland job.

He inherits an International side of disinterested players who are rated lower than the Cape Verde Islands.

I'll give him 12 months.

Another visit (I think my 5th) to St Andrews tonight to see the FA Cup 3rd round replay between Birmingham City and Leeds United.

Only a 25 minute drive as i'm currently working down in the West Midlands. To be fair to Birmingham (or Small Heath as SS4 calls them) they enclosed detailed directions slip with the ticket for driving, buses and trains. Pretty decent.

My ticket is for the Gil Merrick lower block 2, row 17. Although i'll probably just stand at the back. Come on Leeds, lets have something to shout about.

So after moaning about the wage bill old saggy face Redknapp looks likely to sign Remy on anything up to £80K a week. Remy now looks like a mercenary as its more than likely QPR will go down and he can waltz off back to France with a big pay off and enjoy his money.

Shocking behaviour and now that I can see he is a player only interested in the money Im actually a little bit glad we are not signing him.

Though we really do need some new people in

It's a shame because in the not to distant past Scotland actually had some pretty good players.

Not many good Scottish players around now most of the really good ones last played in the 1970's

Indeed I remember Archie Gemmells "wonder goal" against the Dutch in Argentina 1978

Scotland used to qualify when England didn't at a number of tournaments, the last time they got there was France 98 World Cup.

I believe the decline can be traced to the onset of the English Premier League when the "other UK" players were replaced with foreigners to a large degree. This has reduced the chances for prospective Dalglishes and Sounesses etc

I had a chance to go to Darlington's ground a few years ago in the League Cup (or was it the JPT??!) but turned it down, really wish I didn't now.

Leeds won 1-0.

We played you in both. That wasn’t really our ground. Feethams was out ground that was a monstrous monument to ego and avarice.

I have now seen my club play at 4 homes grounds, can anyone name them?

I saw the FA Vase Trophy between Lowestoft and Kirkham and Wesham at Wembley, Even though we lost 2-1 after being 1-0 up for about 80 minutes

If it gets him off my tv as a pundit, I will support him fully as Scotland manager no matter what the results!

It's not just the actions of the EPL though, there's a significant lack of youth development in Scottish football. The EPL teams can't buy if there's no-one worthy of being bought!

It also wouldn't surprise me if he feels that he has a better chance of staying in the EPL with QPR than Newcastle. It might sound strange, but it isn't beyond the realms of possibility. I actually think QPR will stay up but equally don't think Newcastle will go down either.

There is always the whole "London" thing as well, players have historically turned down moves to the more northern clubs, even for lesser money.

Common Sense has prevailed with the BBC now reporting that the FA have rescinded the red card shown to Vincent Kompany at the weekend.

Perhaps you think that as a result Jack Wilshere should now be punished and banned for three games for simulation. That way it would be fair!

That is me talking with my tinted spectacles being taken off.

No, I think he made a bit of a meal out of it but there was contact to an extent.

For the record, I have nothing against Arsenal. They are one of the few Premiership clubs which I have respect for, they got their glory though hard work and fair spending. They also have a great youth academy and do well at bringing up players through the youth system. I actually went to a few of their games back in 2009 as a friend of mine was a Gooner, it was fun.

Speaking of developing youth talent, Manchester City have been quite good at youth development over the years having turned out a fair number of regular first team players (though since the big names arrived things have changed).

One such player was Michael Johnson, he had talent but suffered a bad injury and never really recovered from that. He struggled with match fitness and injuries, his last game for City was in 2009 (he did spend time on loan though) but it seems the club finally axed him after it looks like we found out "who really ate all the pies"...

News Article

Quite a severance package, I'm in agreement with the comments though surely the club can terminate his contract as he violated the general rules of being a professional footballer and became a right fat sod*

*no offence to fat sods, I've lost my once "Herculean Physique" since I stopped playing a few years ago... :D

A list that small is never embarrassing, some people can only get certain days off work or have other things to do at weekends, or are limited to how far they can go.

Also if we are going to use non league and old grounds I do have a lot more to add, but I will only add it if people are interested in it :p

I think that it would take me half a day to put all the grounds ive been to. I have also been to a few European Grounds as well. When i was younger i use to do Non League grounds.

I could probably do at least two divisions of Eighteen of Grounds that no longer exist.

I actually use to like going to Maine Road back in the day, i wouldnt say i supported them per say. Not long after David Rocastle's passing we played there and along with lots of fans that day a few tears were shed, both the City and Arsenal fans were singing as one in respect for the young man so tragically taken away so early in life.

The one player i do like and have respect for in Man City's team is actually Vincent Kompany, he doesnt seem to have been blinded by what is going on at the Etihad and plays the game with a bit of passion.

My list was actually erroneous. It isn't formed exclusively of Roots Hall (plus Wembley if that counts).

It is formed of Roots Hall and Twerton Park (Bath City). Yay for doubling my tally.

Reminds me of Jermaine Jenas and his transfer to Tottenham with him saying living in Newcastle whilst playing for them was like livingin in a goldfish bowl. So he moved to London. I still chuckle at that one

No he hasnt; the interview you're referring to was given BEFORE the CVA was rejected, and BEFORE all the assets, including the club's history and trophies, were transferred from the oldco to the newco. Had that last bit not happened, we would have a different story to tell; however, as it is, fortunately we have retained the club's history and are the same Rangers.

What Mr Green is saying NOW is rather more relevant to reality NOW than what he was saying more than 6 months ago - which might have been a very real possibility then, but is not where we find ourselves at the present time.

:lol::lol::lol:

Ignore what he said previously because it doesn't agree with your point of view. Brilliant!!

What about the round that The Rangers entered the Scottish Cup in? If they were the same team then you should have entered at the same round as all the SPL sides, you didn't.
