Apparently they moved from there about a week ago and now have an office in the network rail building opposite side to the station.
That was on the cards for years....You can now see how long things can take on the railway.
What you have to remember for the people that panic on here, It's a massive waiting game with the railway. Some guys may get picked for courses in a few weeks, some wait ages with no correspondence and end up in a talent pool. You have to be patient. Nothing gets done fast, no matter what company you work for.
I know Freightliner have lost loads of drivers over the past 18 months because I was one of them and you still have some leaving in the next few months. Because they can't seem recruit qualified drivers (maybe a hand fall) this is a massive drive for them.
What you guys also have to remember, is that there maybe loads of courses available, but you may not have enough instructors. This is what happened to the company I'm with now.
Even though we have enough people to run the course, we struggle on instructors, so they have had to put courses back, I think by around 4 months. I'm not saying this is a problem with Freightliner, but it can give you some idea what can happen and why you could possibly be waiting.
It can also be hard to find instructors. Not many drivers like to do this, because if the trainee messes up, its also goes onto the instructors record, so It's not for everyone.
Don't forget it "COULD" take a good year, or maybe more before your on your own...I was never a trainee, but after all your Traction and Rules, you may (if not changed) will have to complete 250 hours of driving with a Instructor. It doesn't sound a lot, but that can take around 6 months plus. I think the driving hours are wheels turning only. This can impact for the next course, if you haven't enough instructors....Like I said, you will end up having a back log of trainees sitting around.
These are all the little things that can make this process a waiting game, but like I said you have to be very patient.
