Won't be needed to be changed for the next passenger after me, then. They are to protect the person's hair from a previous occupant's hair and whatever they put on it, apparently.

Walking advert for Pledge, me. It's not that bad, at least if I wash my hair it dries quickly so I can get started on the other one.Wear a hat?
I watched some of that too. I didn’t realise you’d been involved with that @Peter Mugridge?I didn't see him, but I noticed Peter Mugridge's name in the credits of a documentary on the Intercity 125 on Channel 5 this evening.

Now you say it that’s ringing a bell with me now too. It's ringing a bell with me that Peter did mention this some time ago, didn't a program researcher come on here seeking information or personal experiences regarding the HSTs a while back?

Speaking about forum members being on TV, I saw @leomartin125 on "Plane Spotting Live" the other week.
Indeed it was me! Nice meeting you briefly. See you around.Interesting afternoon so far whilst out on a forum meet
We bumped into @Lampshade on the concourse at Liverpool Lime Street, was joined by @tony_mac on the 68 hauled to Lea Green and then we believe we just spoke to @Jack Brown (“maybe”) also on the 68 service as we left it
Indeed. Just seen the HST roll in from my (overcrowded) 185 and was a little bit jelous !
I feel like I just saw @DarloRich get on an XC HST at York going north but can't be certain and they've wandered off before I was able to hail them to confirm!
If you boarded the XC HST, please note that the rear coach does not have working plug sockets. (if train companies were to provide plug sockets that worked, the fares would have to be higher, you know!)You did! I needed a working plug

Earlier this month I saw @bluegoblin7 at the Post Office Railway
Same for me. I guess you'd have to go to a forum meet first, before you start recognising faces on the street. If be suprised if I haven't met anyone on here but in actual fact I don't know what anyone on here actually looks like haha

It's possible but this forum isn't really aimed at spotters; there are other sites that are more aimed at catering for that market. It's like when you see a couple of trainspotters at your local, and you wonder if they visit this forum.
I’ve asked a few random people over the years if they’re on here. But I’ve only struck gold twice to my knowledge.Doesn't count then
Exactly!
We do have a West Yorkshire Day Rover meet coming up, along with forum meals in Edinburgh, Doncaster, Crewe, York and London; if anyone is interested please do get in touch.

I see plenty of spotters at the end of the platforms at Doncaster and York on a very regular basis (there can be many dozens of them at times) and never recognise a single one of them as any of the hundreds of forum members I have met.
I'm far more likely to recognise a forum member on a train, at a concourse, waiting for a train, or even in a ticket office or at a gateline and with one or two rare exceptions there is no red pen and notebook anywhere in sight!
In fact I am more likely to recognise a forum member at my local leisure centre (which has happened) than I am at the far end of a platform at Doncaster station!
