i was expecting the 30 to replace 30 on top of the ones already sold/for sale

Will the deckers go back to their old depots afterwards or are these allocations permanent?

30 have been prepared for sale, so in this immediate time, its 40.

We need to keep a strong single deck fleet - just in case.

By the time Covid is 100% clear, Edinburgh will be largely different. Theres no hard yes or no answer to any vehicle movements and changes. On top of that, we regularly shuffle vehicles around.

the new singles are replacing old singles 1 for 1.

B8RLE's will displace 30 X 7900's, ordinarily running on the service 30 - these new singles are primarily for the service 30.

in turn meaning 30 X B7RLE's will be sold, most have been already.

It's said 30 B8RLE's are due - i was led to believe there was 45 due, this may have been reduced to 30, but originally it was 45.

Deckers are being used on single routes to aid social distancing.
Would the buses moving from the 30 go to the 45 moving the Skylink vehicles off it?

Was out a drive with my girlfriend today in her car and the buses I seen around Penicuik, Edinburgh and the likes of Musselburgh, Seton Sands etc all seemed pretty busy today.

2 crashes on the Edinburgh city bypass pretty much at the same plus but 1 on each side didn't help too much either with traffic. Was a fair distance backed up with traffic from the accidents just at Dreghorn
I reckon general traffic in a lot of Edinburgh is at at least pre-lockdown levels now. Getting some people out of cars and back on buses can't happen soon enough.

I'd say its still a long way off normal levels , certainly out towards the west it's dead with all the office workers out of Edinburgh Park.

I’d imagine the skylink vehicles are largely overkill at the best of times with marine gaining back its original 7900’s
Nothing is "overkill" right now. we need to maintain social distancing.

no, there's a reason Skylink vehicles are being used on he 45.

Students returning I'd imagine?

i only heard it in passing, so might not be true. But apparently, some of these are used as MUDFA vehicles at weekends, gives Marine that little bit extra work. Also with them heading out to Riccarton, their in the right part of the city, should they need to cover either extra Uni workings or Skylink/Airlink duties.

Them being deckers ofcourse, allows social distancing.

In all seriousness, its temporary until their painted.

theres still talk of some new stock for East Coast, the decision hasnt been made.

I'd be tempted to adjust the existing livery a bit to make them adverts for Motorcoaches (add some URLs and phone numbers more prominently to existing colours) and use them flexibly across all the fleets as needed.

Help get the word out there.

a decision is still being made.
Ok thank you hopefully LothianCountry keeps a couple of them, the Black colour scheme looks quite sharp it would be a shame if they lost it.

probably until there’s a replacement for them considering those came to replace the B7s
Makes sense.

What was the Enviro400XLB that was evolved in the accident?

Makes sense.

Lothian Country still have a number of them, they've just been repainted into their colours. Which is preferred over the grey for service work.

True people know the Green and Cream over the black colour scheme.

East Coast Buses 102 (RIG 6492) is with E&M Horsburgh.

Should we start the ADL versus MCV pool now, surprised we hadn't already tbh.

I know what I want it to be, and I think I know I'll be disappointed.

I havent got an accurate date unfortunately.

Cheers, hoping the open day gives us some clues.

RBS has now closed down the South gyle building, and its not planned until next Spring before Gogarburn fully reopening, which means the x12 or The x18 will not need to go back in for a while yet.
