Anyone know when they are canning the ‘doorway/hatch service only’ rule? Was always pointless but utterly mad to still have it at this point. What risk is there when standing inside Starbucks?

I think it was an act of desperation. Cases were going up, and it was just about the only thing left to do.Anyone know when they are canning the ‘doorway/hatch service only’ rule? Was always pointless but utterly mad to still have it at this point. What risk is there when standing inside Starbucks?
I think it was an act of petulant spite when it was pointed out that people were out and about far more than they had been in lockdown one. Infections were already comfortably declining when it got implementedI think it was an act of desperation. Cases were going up, and it was just about the only thing left to do.
That's actually probably more like it.I think it was an act of petulant spite when it was pointed out that people were out and about far more than they had been in lockdown one. Infections were already comfortably declining when it got implemented
It is, by far in my opinion, one of the most ridiculous rules to come out of this so far, especially at this stage.I think it was an act of petulant spite when it was pointed out that people were out and about far more than they had been in lockdown one. I was surprised it wasn’t ditched on the 5th to be honest. It always struck me as a rule that was imposed with removing it in mind. The government would look good as they were easing rules, when in reality it didn’t really have any effect either way.Anyone know when they are canning the ‘doorway/hatch service only’ rule? That's because bakeries are defined as essential retailers - not takeaways/fast-food providers/whatever. Although I'm not sure where the likes of Greggs fit into this...Still some places I've walked into, I walked into a takeaway other day. Some bakeries you can too.
Indeed. I honestly thought it'd be one of the first "rules" to be ditched - long before April!I was surprised it wasn’t ditched on the 5th to be honest. I don't think that will stop a steady stream of Scottish banknotes being used in Berwick, Carlisle and Newcastle from April 12th!

Yes in their determination to "keep the meadows nice" they've done precisely nothing about the toilet situation or emptying the bins more reliably. They've just covered every lamppost with a sign saying either "no drinking" or "stay away from other people. They have the deadly virus. Fear them. Fear them". And then on Friday evening they literally flooded it with about 40 police going round in pairs threatening people with their sinister "words of advice".One other bizarre rule which appears not to have been lifted is the ban on drinking alcohol outdoors. The Police have siezed upon this after the youths were running wild in Edinburgh last weekend and there are prominent posters up saying alcohol is banned on the Meadows under coronavirus restrictions (unlike Glasgow, Edinburgh does not have local restrictions on consuming alcohol in greenspaces).
Still hasn't deterred people drinking while having a picnic in front of Kelvingrove Art Gallery. One other bizarre rule which appears not to have been lifted is the ban on drinking alcohol outdoors. Yes, you cant walk into a Greggs like Burger King and the like. Was a takeaway I walked into anyway. That's because bakeries are defined as essential retailers - not takeaways/fast-food providers/whatever. Although I'm not sure where the likes of Greggs fit into this...

Unfortunately not, Tuesday April 20th is when the changes are to be confirmed. Likely at a 12noon press briefingWhen should we hear confirmation on if the April 26th easing is going ahead, should be this week given it marks just over two weeks to go (yay!)
Sausage rolls are essential items Can't believe I only noticed Greggs in Barrhead was doing doorway counter service last week. That's because bakeries are defined as essential retailers - not takeaways/fast-food providers/whatever. Although I'm not sure where the likes of Greggs fit into this...
Entirely pointless, but I suppose the police can see their lovely overtime slipping away, and need to maximise the last of their paid sunshine ambles through the park. There was effectively a police road block at the top of Middle Meadow Walk, presumably questioning any groups of youths. All seems a bit heavy handed. Similar police presence yesterday - for context, it was snowing at 6pm last night, so I doubt there would have been wild parties like the weekend before anyway...

The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in public places within the area identified, as detailed in the "Dundee City Council Prohibition of Consumption of Alcohol in Designated Public Places Byelaws 1999". The bye laws do not apply on 31st December from 6pm until the end of the day, and on 1st January until 6am. https://data.gov.uk/dataset/0ce90901-acc5-4a44-80b7-d491af923c9b/alcohol-prohibition-areas-dundee
Scotland is going into a tougher lockdown with bans on everything from takeaways to shopping and outdoor drinking. ... First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced drinking alcohol outdoors will be banned in all level 4 areas of Scotland, putting an end to takeaway pints. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/laws-drinking-public-scotland-explained-23318478
Not really, given the mass brawls that have been happening down there.Entirely pointless, but I suppose the police can see their lovely overtime slipping away, and need to maximise the last of their paid sunshine ambles through the park.
As Pubs and Shops reopen in England today, what was the science that enabled Hairdressers to open a week before those in England yet the Pubs and Shops two weeks afterwards ?
A lot has been made out of that fight. Seems like the local residents were very fast to latch onto it to moan about the rubbish. Not really, given the mass brawls that have been happening down there.
Probably the "science" that said Nicola Sturgeon needed a haircut.
Even when Scottish Pubs reopen in 2 weeks it is still going to be on a more restrictive basis than those in England, why are rolling over and taking all this ?

What's the betting she'll find an excuse to delay Foreign Travel from May 17th even if it goes ahead in England ?
