Close but no cigar. It's went to the Llanelli Goods Shed trust.

Looks to be an interesting project. I assume that, based on their plans, the pacer will become a static exhibition converted for other uses?Close but no cigar. It's went to the Llanelli Goods Shed trust.

Think they're going to make it a cafe / gift shop initially.Looks to be an interesting project. I assume that, based on their plans, the pacer will become a static exhibition converted for other uses?
Makes sense, and will be a nice addition to their setupThink they're going to make it a cafe / gift shop initially.
Do you know which one this is @Scottish-Exile ?The Nene Valley Railway have got their hands on an ex-TfW 143
Have any more of the TfW 143s gone for scrap yet? So far I’ve only seen 605 head off to Newport to meet its demise
Don’t think Tom Jones will be happy with 609 being scrapped haha. Though it is good to see several of the 143s preservedOf the 15 TfW Class 143's, 8 have been preserved.
The remaining 7 have already been scrapped at Newport: 604, 605, 608, 609, 610, 614 & 624
609 being scrapped? Its not unusual....Don’t think Tom Jones will be happy with 609 being scrapped haha. Though it is good to see several of the 143s preserved
Bye! Bye! Bye! Boneshaker!609 being scrapped? Its not unusual....
Great stuff - thanks very much mate
from a previous post on one of the several tfw pacer threads there was suggestions that they were heading to a heritage railway unsure how true tho(From the TfW Pacers Final Diagrams... thread)
I saw 143601 and 143616 at Landore on the 30/6/21 at 09:57, and 143616 even had its engines running. Does anyone know what the situation is with them...?
They were being fuelled and then moved to the despatch road, ready for transfer (by road) to their new home.(From the TfW Pacers Final Diagrams... thread)

It has the most hope out of the whole pacer fleet…don't hold out much hope for the Evolution prototype (144012)
From the list i’m looking at right now, none will meet their end any time soon.I'm not sure you can safely say that all the 144s have survived... just none of them have met their end YET.
The one currently at the East Lancs (144009) is apparently destined for Greater Manchester Fire Service. I don't think anything has come back from what Fire Brigades tend to do to them! From the list i’m looking at right now, none will meet their end any time soon.
Based on what? It hasn't been purchased yet unlike most of its sister units, and the PRM status is largely irrelevant to preserved lines (rightly or wrongly). It's also non-standard, and most preserved lines don't have toilet tanking facilities, if any do.It has the most hope out of the whole pacer fleet…
Have they moved off as of yet? They were being fuelled and then moved to the despatch road, ready for transfer (by road) to their new home.
My response was more aimed at none of them being scrapped by porterbrook. All have been sold on.I don't think anything has come back from what Fire Brigades tend to do to them!
I can confirm a sale has been made on the unit. I am not sure weather the information I was given is to be kept private or not but it’s owner has big plans for it.It hasn't been purchased yet
for certain, no. You’re completely barking up the wrong tree there. It’s PRM bog and ironing board seats aren’t being kept to my knowledge so everyone can stop worrying about that.Vintage Trains
Is still at worksop. Is destined for The Airedale Hospital.Anyone know where 55801 went to?
That's an interesting one. I keep being told it is in the hands of Nottinghamshire Fire Service so thanks for the updateIs still at worksop. Is destined for The Airedale Hospital.
As above. 143 616 went out first to Tanat Valley.
55682 left Landore on 05th July and 55657 left on 06th July.
143 601 has also left with 55667 leaving on the 8th July and 55642 last night.

I was responding to the recurring suggestion that the PRM status would mean it would be in high demand. Mention of Vintage Trains was my speculation of the only situation I could see where the PRM mods would be a positive rather than a negative. If as you say the big toilet is being removed, this supports my suggestion that the PRM loo (and the associated waste tank) would be more trouble than it's worth for most heritage groups. My response was more aimed at none of them being scrapped by porterbrook. All have been sold on.
