Nice photos, IamInteresting they are still running the unit’s with EMR logos! (401’s even still got EMR posters inside!)

East Midlands Railway Regional 156415 awaits the signal at Stalybridge, before departing with 2W25 to Wigan Wallgate, Working for Northern on the 18/12/21.flic.kr
This might be why 401/415 is still branded for EMR.Interesting they are still running the unit’s with EMR logos! (401’s even still got EMR posters inside!)

It’s definitely 401 and 402, with 415 and 412 to follow at a later date. 401 is down for immediate use once it’s sent to Northern.
It was said to me earlier that 401/415 may even return to the Midlands when more ex-GA units transfer, as those are the ones EMR want rid of first, then once more Turbostars are in use the native 156s will leave permanently. I’m not sure on the truth of that so I will update once more solid info comes in on that
(Edited to include the correct units as information has since been updated since I received it)
so they’re not going back to EMR then.Just to put everyone right, 401, 402, 412 & 415 are staying with Northern from the day they came until they go off lease again whenever. Don't care what you've heard, what others say etc. I know this for fact. They are all now on Northern exam regimes, mods done to bring them up to speed and the branding (logo's etc.) will be coming off soon, just hadn't got round to it as they were needed for service.
They haven't received all of the 170s yet from WMR/TFW. Could be quite a while yet..Wasn't EMR's original plan to remove all sprinters from their fleet anyways, so why this talk of sending them back?
Then why not refrain from sending more? Makes more sense than returning them to EMR from Northern. They haven't received all of the 170s yet from WMR/TFW. Could be quite a while yet..
It was mentioned to me by a colleague (and by fleet control at EMR), and in my original post I did make it clear that I wasn’t sure on the truth of it. EMR are stretched with rolling stock as it is, what with 153s leaving the fleet and the 170s taking a long time to filter through from the West Midlands so it could well make sense. The original plan was for the 156/9s to be the first to go and it was said by the above that 156401/415 would come back in exchange for two 156/9s. It must be said that plans can be turbulent and things changeWasn't EMR's original plan to remove all sprinters from their fleet anyways, so why this talk of sending them back?
So it would be a straight swap for the TrainFX fitted units? If you are doubtful, the best thing to do is to wait and see.
I would imagine that to be the case if true. If they are permanently Northern, then I’m not too sure how loans to other TOCs would be factored in as I’m not that familiar with exams and maintenance schedulingSo it would be a straight swap for the TrainFX fitted units? That makes sense.
Why not send the /9s first then… ?It was mentioned to me by a colleague (and by fleet control at EMR), and in my original post I did make it clear that I wasn’t sure on the truth of it.
