Re 156401, 402 Derby to NH. I wonder how this fit in with Northerns livery, interior and digital train systems and can they be pressed into service quickly.
Thanks. K

Nothing to stop them from working immediately if desired, once they've had their handover and been fitted into an exam cycle - they're similar in spec to the ex FNW Newton Heath units.

They might go for refurbishment first but time will tell.

Yes. Hope they stay there. We will keep our refurbished ScotRail units with intermediate door controls along with all the ex ATN Angel leased units.

The ex EMT units have intermediate door controls fitted. The ex Anglia ones don't.

156402 is an ex Anglia unit which was re-numbered to 156902 when it arrived at EMT. Noting that this has now regained its original number has it had mods whilst at EMT?

Of course, 156402 is at least already in Northern livery.

Bodywork, repaint and removal of class 170 style passenger information system and fitting of TrainFX. Still has it's interior from the refresh it received after transfer from Central Trains to One.

It’s definitely 401 and 402, with 415 and 412 to follow at a later date. 401 is down for immediate use once it’s sent to Northern.

It was said to me earlier that 401/415 may even return to the Midlands when more ex-GA units transfer, as those are the ones EMR want rid of first, then once more Turbostars are in use the native 156s will leave permanently. I’m not sure on the truth of that so I will update once more solid info comes in on that

(Edited to include the correct units as information has since been updated since I received it)

That means that 156415 will transfer next week. The other unit that will be moving to Northern is 156412 when it comes out of Wolverton.

Any reason for 401 not going via Wolverton first?
It has had a paint job that is well within warranty so painting it won't be a priority until that's due. It already has TrainFX fitted and once it fits into the exam cycle and has any Northern mods it'll no doubt be in service.

The ex Anglia ones will be due bodywork and repaint at Wolverton along with their TrainFX conversion.

It does also now mean that we have the somewhat unusual situation of a Northern liveried unit working for EMR, and a EMR Liveried unit working for Northern!

The Northern liveried unit has transferred with the EMT liveried one  The next one out of Wolverton is going direct to Newton Heath, apparently.

Anyone advise which units have been repainted in Northern livery ready for transfer north. Presumably they retain there EMR or Anglia interiors and seats.
Thanks.

Are the whole lot of the East Mids 156s going to Northern, or is it just the ones that were temporarily renumbered from 1564xx to 1569xx?

The sole remaining East Mids 156 I require for haulage is 410.
Several but not all original EMT ones, all original 156/9s and none of the four that transferred from Northern Rail. There was a list published a while back but it was quite a long time ago now so it’s unsurprising that you haven’t seen it. I’ll try and find it and quote it for you. :)

I've had a quick look at the first page of this thread, and if I have interpreted it right and nothing else has changed, would I be right in that 410 will be remaining in the East Mids?

Only until the Turbostars finally arrive - ultimately it is off lease with an uncertain future.
