Was on 018 this morning, good start to the day. Any reason to why there is 4 507s on the Chester/Ellesmere Port lines? Would expect 777s
Presumably because insufficient 777s were available. No complaints from me!

Sadly they are at least 2 units down due to the vandalism last weekPresumably because insufficient 777s were available. No complaints from me!
Bear in mind only the Wirral Line & Hunts Cross lines will be running in Liverpool this weekend due to planned engineering work. Bus replacements out towards Hall Road, Aintree and Rice Lane.Good afternoon folks! Will be in Liverpool for the afternoon on Saturday as a tourist with my beloved. Just wondering what the chances are of us finding a 507 or 2 as an extra treat? I've noticed on here that they look to be taking more of a back seat on Saturdays so I'm not getting my hopes up! Do they have any regular diagrams on Saturdays that we could aim for, or is it more a case of how many newfangled things are unavailable?
Suggest you head for New Brighton, appears to be the last bastion for 507's. Three 507 turns each day at the moment.Good afternoon folks! It’s been posted above. Withdrawals paused until April. New Brighton 3 diagrams and Southport / Hunts Cross 3 diagrams. Plus frequent substitutions on Chester and Ellesmere Port.Good evening, I'm planning to go to Liverpool in April (around easter time) to spot 507's, does anyone know if/where they'll be operating by then?
(Last time I was there was before the 777 order AFAIK)
The prices are usually reasonable if you can avoid football or event days and book a bit in advance. But it's absolutely reasonable to stay outside the city and use Merseyrail to travel in, just like many do down south to avoid paying a London hotel £300 a night for a shoebox. What many people forget is the price of city centre accommodation so consider staying in new brighton and getting the train in.

Sounds like a good shout. Will keep a watch for reports on here, but as we'd quite like to sample a ride on the ferry too, we might see about going one way on the ferry and one way on the train (possibly with a bus to join the dots as there looks to be a gap between the two that I can't remember how far it is). I'll be quiet now though before I drag us too far off the topic of the thread!Suggest you head for New Brighton, appears to be the last bastion for 507's. Three 507 turns each day at the moment.

That's helpful, thank youThe walk between Seacombe and New Brighton takes around 45 minutes, the half-hourly 411 bus takes about ten from memory.
Also not far from Seacombe Ferry Terminal is the Emergency Services Training Centre where those two derelict 508 vehicles can be seen in the yard outside.
Thanks for the update. Have 507015 and 507023 been out recently - dont recall seeing them being reported recently?Nice to see plenty of the old-timers out today with 13 of the 19 running despite the engineering work.
On the Northern Line, we have 507014 (13.31 from Hall Road) on the Hall Road - Southport section, plus three formations on the Liverpool Central - Hunts Cross: 507002 (10.59 from Central), 507031 (10.44) and 507003 + 507033 (11.14).
The Wirral Line has three on the West Kirby line, the most in a while: 507016 (17.36 circuit), 507020 (17.51) and 507029 (16.51). There is one each on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines respectively: 507011 (18.01) and 507010 (18.12). Lastly, the New Brighton line has 507007 (XX.05 from Liverpool Central), 507021 (XX.35) and 507030 (XX.20).
Neither of these has been out for a week or two now as far as I know. Thanks for the update. Have 507015 and 507023 been out recently - dont recall seeing them being reported recently?
No. The 507s still have 3/4 of diagrams and the plan is Southport first I believe. Are the last New Brighton booked turns planned to go over to 777 anytime soon?
I see. Do we know when Southport will go over then, or do we have everything currently booked remaining so until May?No. The 507s still have 3/4 of diagrams and the plan is Southport first I believe.

Basically, yes. 507 withdrawals have been paused until April.I see. Do we know when Southport will go over then, or do we have everything currently booked remaining so until May?
Yes, withdrawal, which suggests standing down and/or disposing. I enquired about the next reduction in diagrams, that's all.No. As I posted a few weeks ago, 507 withdrawal is paused until mid-April. Using 777s for the Grand National would be a recipe for disaster.
