777041 entered service on Friday on the Ormskirk line, beginning with 5O05. Quite a quick introduction for this unit given its only been up here a short while. 777021 and 777144 are yet to enter service.
somethings telling me it hasn’t completed ffr given it’s been up here for about a month and the ride quality is considerably rougher than the others, still crap mind777041 entered service on Friday on the Ormskirk line, beginning with 5O05. It has been doing multiple runs up and down the Southport line each day for a few weeks so no doubt will have completed the legal requirement of fault free runningsomethings telling me it hasn’t completed ffr given it’s been up here for about a month and the ride quality is considerably rougher than the others, still crap mind
And the ironic thing was they probably broke down less then tooa time when the railway put things into service and hoped for the best
I wondered that. Imagine picking up your brand new car to find its 3 months old and had done 4000 miles, fault free....When did fault free running become a legal requirement? Was there a time when the railway put things into service and hoped for the best?
I guess it was the Polish/Swiss issue again? I presume that the units that are currertly working in multiple on the Ormskirk line are the only ones that have received the software updates to make them compatible with each other.Update - original rescue unit on non compatible software version.
777;1 are no longer strangers on the Ormskirk line.777142 working 1149 Ormskirk - Liverpool Central just now
Are these units effectively stuck there at the moment due to the works, or can they be moved as long as it isn't towards Southport?Following a visit to Southport this morning, the following 777s are stabled in Birkdale 1, 2 and 8 sidings (along with 507011 in siding 10 and 507014 in siding 9):
- 777020
- 777021
- 777024
- 777028
- 777041
Yes all units at Southport cannot be moved until the Network rail possession is lifted. So presumably Saturday morning at the earliestAre these units effectively stuck there at the moment due to the works, or can they be moved as long as it isn't towards Southport?

nope, already a planned ‘no more old trains’So is it true that all Wirral Line diagrams will be 777s as of tomorrow?
Officially yes though no doubt substitutions will occur at some stage in the coming days and weeks. So is it true that all Wirral Line diagrams will be 777s as of tomorrow?
I forgot about 777039, which unless I've missed an earlier date, entered passenger service on Saturday 6th April starting with 5S79/2S79 to Southport.777041 entered service on Friday on the Ormskirk line, beginning with 5O05. 15 left as far as I'm aware, 6 units are required for the Southport diagramsAs in theory there are only 3 diagrams for 507s how many 507s are still left on Merseyside and ' taking up space' so that the 777s currently at LM cannot come up?
I suspect from next week on withdrawals might pick up pace/ go back to the speed of earlier in the year as a result of the National being overAs in theory there are only 3 diagrams for 507s how many 507s are still left on Merseyside and ' taking up space' so that the 777s currently at LM cannot come up?
Today was the first time in about 4 weeks I've been kicked off because of a 'train fault'.Is it safe to assume reliability has improved substantially on the 777s, or have people just stopped bothering to report problems?
Out today according to PTS.777021 was seen at Sandhills yesterdy on test.
