I believe 5T82 was the headcode used yesterday for 018 and 029 when they were in NBN, not sure if it is the same today though

018 and 029 were no longer coupled, i went past North and it was 029+001 outside, with 018 being shunted inside

Edit: Information boards at Hamilton Square showing the 16:46 to West Kirby as cancelled, potentially the 507s?

018/029 apparently in New Brighton sidings. I'm told the 777 that failed has been replaced and will carry on with the remainder of the diagram.

The original email said 6car 507 at North depot but not yet available, for whatever reason.

Update: just past North Depot again, 018 is being moved inside the shed, and 029 and 001 are coupled outside. 001 has a ‘Farewell’ sticker on the front of it, confirming its on the tour. Im assuming it would be 001 + 029 now as they are coupled, and they would be keeping 023 + 003 as reserves in Southport
Thanks for today's updates. Looks fairly certain 001 will be on the tour; all this after the utter tosh that has been going around about it being 'officially withdrawn'. Ideally they will use one of 018 or 029 alongside as those two are much better runners than 003 and 023.

The lack of action on the 46th anniversary is a bit of a shame, but after all the superb 507 running over the last few weeks, it isn't the end of the world. I just hope the very last public run - presumably in December - is made known so we can all say our goodbyes; personally, I'd far rather be on that than a 'farewell tour' weeks before the actual end.

003 has been split from 023 and has moved into Southport C.H.S. Possible preparation for entry into service today?

I have spotted 5T82 in NBN on Traksy. I have had word that 18/29 are both there, But that headcode has been used a few times for 507 ECS’ so leads me to think that could make an appearance later

Edit: There is headcode 2N21 which is white on Traksy, This headcode is also showing as VAR on Realtimetrains

Both still sat completely dead at NBN, nothing out.

5T82 is from yesterday, when they moved from North Depot to New Brightom

Noticed there are some ECS paths (below) in for this Saturday. I presume to provide the units which will feature on the 507 farewell tour this coming Sunday.

5D07 just appeared (edit: and now departed) Birkenhead North on Opentraintimes

Confirmed on the MerseyRailways 2.0 Facebook group, 507001 and 507023 are planned to operate the BLS Farewell tour tomorrow.

yes why wouldnt it? it would need to have a headcode, which will be 2T07

1T07* sorry
Just wondered. Some trains don’t seem to. For example the noisy thing that cleans the lines at night doesn’t seem to. Although I could have just missed it I suppose.

Great to see a bit of variety and not just the same pairing as the Wirral tour. Should be a good day tomorrow.

003's lack of heating is apparent as it's distinctly chilly on board it just now! Still, always a pleasure to get one on the Southport line even if 003 isn't exactly the Rolls-Royce unit.

001 is not in good condition at all in terms of sound, Its not letting me upload the video so I will try to attach it below

Edit: The video won’t upload because the file is too large

The motor fan is pulsing up and down in pitch in an unusual way. It sounds like it is about to explode

That's usually an indicator of a knackered Motor Alternator.

If 001 is having problems would the pairing with 023 negate that? Ie would it be possible for 023 to do all the pushing pulling etc?
