I find their advertising and 'little touches' absolutely cringeworthy, are they really going to go from seat to seat addressing everyone by name  .
Their base product is great, cheap tickets on a busy route. Just wish they'd stop the cheese !!

They'd better not be cutting about sharing my name with other passengers without good reason. Seems like a data protection breach to me

Those seats will hopefully be comfortable, but they look horrid and the arm rests?! The interior looks like a Ryanair plane (albeit without the bright yellow).

At the end of the day, if they're a cheap way to move people up and down the country then good luck to them! It will help counter all those 'it's so much cheaper to fly, or buy a car and sell it the next day' comparisons.

The texture on the seats doesn't show up well from a distance, but if you turn the 360 video in certain scenes you can get a much better look at them and the nice thick weave of the fabric.

It's not a breach if they just call you by your first name or, for example, Mr Smith. Many hotels do it, why can't a train company? It gives that personal touch rather than you just being another "customer".
So much negativity on this forum towards a company trying to do something a little different and at a much cheaper price than LNER. I've only used Easyjet twice in my life and both times they got me to my destination on time with as little hassle as can be expected when flying these days. The orange colourscheme is a little bit overpowering and the seat wasn't as comfortable as a business class seat on British Airways but that's probably because I paid a tiny fraction of the price but every member of staff was helpful and greeted me with a smile, which counts for a lot.
I'm travelling to Edinburgh by Lumo next month and looking forward to it. Return tickets for me and my wife cost less than £60 as we have a Two Together railcard. I can't afford the LNER prices and probably would've chosen to fly if it wasn't for the cheap rail alternative, that can only be a good thing.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
I personally have nothing against them doing it but do wonder how sustainable long-term the cheap introductory prices are and what sort of price it will go up to once that promotion has finished and the novelty has worn off and they're karting fresh air up and down the east coast for several hours a day. If they're just a couple of quid cheaper than lndr bottom level advance then I fear their days are numbered. If they continue to operate vaguely sensible prices and can win passengers either from LNER or elsewhere then it's all fine and good by me. Unfortunately the coming to timings and the general and reliability of the ECML, plus the fact that for the majority of my business in the South or southeast kings cross is really far from an ideal destination for my needs, they will not drag me off the airlines until something fairly radical happens like the service becomes free or they get better paths than the franchised operator or indeed Great British railways and as it will eventually become

As I said many many pages ago, I don't think the airlines need worry about this New kid on The block, despite their marketing being aimed at airline passengers. The bus and coach companies might justifiably be more concerned if the prices stay reasonable

Yep, the uniform looks straight out of a cheap sci fi. The seats look OK but a bit cheap, I hope they last, but they surely can't be worse than Fainsa Sophias.

Yeah, more Galaxy Quest than Star Trek.

I am not sure these trains will be running empty, if they get the pricing right. There's surely enough passenger numbers to fill what is starting out as a pretty limited service.

I wish it well and hope to try out the service for myself and judge the seats then. However, that video does make them look very cheap and uncomfortable, which is a shame if they're actually better than rivals.

Makes a change from bright red but still a boring colour scheme. There must be any number of good moquette designs to choose from.

Probably a bit too light a colour choice as well. Plain patterns never work well.

Hotels do it because they need to, and usually only at the semi-privacy of a reception desk. If a train company do it, it will be within earshot of half a dozen other passengers. I really just want to get from a to b with as little personal touching as possible

I think Lumo missed a trick by settling on blue as their house colour. The way they bang on about being green, plant based menus, sustainability and carbon footprints, it would have been more sensible to opt for green from the start.

In Ireland, they display the passenger's name on the seat reservation system.

Yep, the Lumo seats look like a mix of those on EMR Meridians and GWR/LNER HSTs.

This may be a taste of what's to come with EMR's standard seating for the 810s?

That used to happen in the UK as well on some stock, I think Pendolinos and Voyagers did.

No, they are using FISA LEAN, aren't they?

Avanti West Coast are using a variant of the same seat for the 80x and Pendolinos.

It's really quite confronting, isn't it?

Also the exact shade of blue looks like it's straight out of a catalogue for linoleum, or cheap vinyl upholstery :|
I find myself thinking this is more blue than the EasyJet orange is orange !.
