You can request a specific seat at the ticket office, but if that seat is reserved you'll just have to keep trying till you get one that isn't.

How reliable is the Fort William portion generally? I'll be going up to do the jacobite in a couple of weeks and will have about quarter of an hour in Fort William between trains, so hoping the sleeper is on time :lol:

You may well be right, I'm not entirely sure if the system will book two seats next to each other that aren't from the same booking yet or not, maybe it is

I believe aisle seats are now reservable for dates after the 19th, not sure why it's not offering any window seats though

Although the chances are of course remote, it's free entry so you don't lose anything either way, certainly worth a punt. I won't however be entering as I have priv rate and would seem selfish to reduce others chances of winning when I don't really need it myself (although it would be nice:lol:)
