I was on one of the diverted Eastbourne to London Bridge trains a few weeks ago and that stopped at Norwood Junction, some people did get on there.

Maybe uphill in one direction? :D There could have been a heat related speed restriction as the GWR Train that I was on, also had to run slower than normal in that area on Wednesday.

I was travelling on GWR from Worcester to Reading on Wed 16 June and when passing through Honeybourne, I noticed a strange looking 3 or 4 carriage train in, I think, TFW grey/red livery, on a siding, could it have been one of the old district line trains that were being changed to battery or...

The old platform / siding has remained mainly intact at Shepperton and has just been replaced. Either for storage of spare trains or maybe even opening up a 2nd platform again.

I was with a group of about 25-30 people and they do reserve for groups, or they did then, it must have been 2 years ago I think. We also had a guide from the Friends of the Line, he was annoyed too.

The trains on the SCR do seem to lack enough carriages sometimes, I got on one at Shipley going northwards and it was rammed, we did have seat reservations, but people where sat in our seats, it did not make a good start to the trip. This was on the Saturday of one of the May bank holiday...

Apart from that incident, it was a good trip, I liked the transport museum they took us to. (It was lucky that someone spotted the cat on the above mentioned train at Euston.) This incident has just been mentioned on the Radio 2 breakfast show.

Was that on Hastings Diesels by any chance going to Lowestoft, may be 3 or 4 years ago? as that happened to me, not that far from Lowestoft. I think think the parent swan could get over the rails but the little cygnets had to be helped by a member of staff.

Didn't a steam special have problem when coming from St. Davids to Central some years ago? I think Hastings to Ore is a bit of a climb too and indeed a steam special doing that route had a problem there too.
