I was in London with a Travelcard and diverted to Fenchurch Street when I noticed my last 357 on a mid-day departure.
c2c had been using their new 720/6s on a couple of services in the morning peak and by early afternoon they appeard on RTT for evening departures,
so started the ball rolling with a trip to Shoeburyness.

Good stuff with making a start with the 720/6s. I can sense some runs to Upminster coming up assuming they start getting used outside peak times (I can see a single 720/6 potentially being useful for some of the Fenchurch - Grays via Rainham services where a 4 coach 357 isn't big enough for crowds but 8 coaches are overkill.

Well I live in hope

Scooped in the following whilst flood-dodging my way to Paignton:
350110
165133

800305
802103

Also sampled classes 150, 153, 156, 170, 172 and 220 in what was an unexpectedly varied day.

21/10:
197049 (Cardiff Central - Newport)
231005 (Cardiff Central - Llanbradach)
231006 (Grangetown - Hengoed)
231010 (Llanbradach - Penarth)
231011 (Hengoed - Cardiff Queen Street)

Just one more of the 231s to go (and 003 wasn't out today according to RTT). Allocations a bit over the place due to various issues on the TfW network. Llanbradach has some nice woods behind the station

Might as well add this onto this post to save doing a new one:

22/10:
Cleared for Mileage
378140 [last 378/1 needed for ten miles, still need 3 more of the dual voltage units which can be harder to track down as they work multiple lines]
710271 [nice when a low mileage 710 pops up when I arrived at Blackhorse Road following a walk, although I had to give chase as I couldn't make it to the platform in time]

Some good progress for a lot of you lately! Not much from me:

22/10/2023

777142

Was this formerly 777042, or am I having a complete memory fail with what's going on with the fleet? I haven't checked lately and my wants list is likely to be wildly wrong!

It's the same unit.

The battery ones had 100 added to their number, thus 777 042 became 777 142. It likely never carried the original number. The same applies for the rest of the battery units.

Brilliant :) Thanks for the gen, I'll have to edit my wants list soon. It'll probably get done at the same time as I add the 730s, now that they're almost ready to get sampled. Rather looking forward to those, even though they will soon replace the beloved 323s!

Which ones are /1s now? I only have /0s in my wants list, and I don't yet have an up to date spotters book. I've been going to get one for ages, but I keep putting it off!
