It's currently sitting in Ealing Common, so perhaps the return trip is tonight?Another run early this morning, to familiarise Test Train drivers and platform gauging, Ruislip depot to Ealing Common depot and return.
Is it visible or tucked away? It's currently sitting in Ealing Common, so perhaps the return trip is tonight?
(The mess room gossip said it was moving to Northfields depot tonight, but LU runs on rumour.)
There's a video on YouTube however as it's under low speed testing you can barely hear it.Still waiting to hear what they sound like(not that passengers will care).
You can see that from a mile away haha. They look spectacular at night..

I don’t think you should be posting gen about it. It’ll just embolden the graffiti yobs. It's currently sitting in Ealing Common, so perhaps the return trip is tonight?

There's only so many places LU can hide a train - do you think perhaps the graffiti artists haven't thought about that? They were remarkably well informed about it's arrival in the UK, something most people on this forum didn't even know about.I don’t think you should be posting gen about it. It’ll just embolden the graffiti yobs.

If we lived in a perfect world where TfL was properly funded, we may have even got the Central line contract option. It's a shame but we can hope that at least the Bakerloo recieves theseIt's going to be a real step up for Piccadilly Line passengers when the 2024 stock enter service and hopefully the Bakerloo gets the same trains as well.
Are there any others coming up?Another run early this morning, to familiarise Test Train drivers and platform gauging, Ruislip depot to Ealing Common depot and return.
These are some pictures of them at Ealing Common depot from yesterday https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AFYN1HVY4/?If we lived in a perfect world where TfL was properly funded, we may have even got the Central line contract option. Did the train move back to Russlip early this morning or is it still at Ealing Common?
Did it run & when is the next one? It's currently sitting in Ealing Common, so perhaps the return trip is tonight?

Yes, I’ve seen those, all great pics. Went to go and see it myself yesterday too from the train (thanks for linking that facebook group, hopefully they accept my request)These are some pictures of them at Ealing Common depot from yesterday https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AFYN1HVY4/?
Still there, the only thing that's changed is the security guard has got a chair now.My question was more if it had moved from there overnight or if it’s still there
Big milestone!Train successfully moved from Ealing Common to Northfields depot via Acton Town 21Rd this morning.

While it didn't enter service until the 60s due to post-war austerity the A stock was effectively designed before WW2. The interior wasn't wildly out of line with the 73TS but...Point to note re the upcoming comparisons of S Stock and 24ts:
They will be roughly the same age difference ( 13 to 15 years) as there A Stock and 73ts were. Did the 73ts feel generations ahead of the A Stock when new?
