I wish there would be a square-on side-profile photograph of the 2024 Tube Stock next to the 1962 Tube Stock, since the 2024 Tube Stock’s small, square windows were inspired by the 1938 Tube Stock’s design in this regard, from which the 1962 Tube Stock were derived, for the purposes of comparison of the designs.

I have to say, Siemens’ cab designs for the 2024 Tube Stock and Class 700 do look aesthetically good and futuristic in my opinion, as do their interior colour displays, much better than the cab exterior aesthetics and flip-dot exterior displays for their older U.K. products, the first-generation Desiro UKs, though the Class 700s’ seats aren’t comfortable (though that’s a third-party design), and their sliding toilet doors opening and closing with annoying noisy bangs as the train accelerates and decelerates isn’t good design.

Bright lights. I hope they aren’t overly harsh. Looks good. I like or hope the destination displays mimic roller blinds like new buses do.

It's currently sitting in Ealing Common, so perhaps the return trip is tonight?

(The mess room gossip said it was moving to Northfields depot tonight, but LU runs on rumour.)

I don’t think you should be posting gen about it. It’ll just embolden the graffiti yobs.

There's only so many places LU can hide a train - do you think perhaps the graffiti artists haven't thought about that? They were remarkably well informed about it's arrival in the UK, something most people on this forum didn't even know about.

From what I saw earlier, there was a security guard waking up and down outside the train in the depot, presumably to prevent such an occurance happening again.

They were well informed due to well meaning people posting gen about it on Various railway groups on Facebook etc. These graffiti yobs are on said forums hiding in plain sight.

The security guard can’t be there 24/7.

The LED lights are going to the standout of the 2024 stock.

It's going to be a real step up for Piccadilly Line passengers when the 2024 stock enter service and hopefully the Bakerloo gets the same trains as well.

If we lived in a perfect world where TfL was properly funded, we may have even got the Central line contract option. It's a shame but we can hope that at least the Bakerloo recieves these

Did the train move back to Russlip early this morning or is it still at Ealing Common?

Yes, I’ve seen those, all great pics. Went to go and see it myself yesterday too from the train (thanks for linking that facebook group, hopefully they accept my request)

My question was more if it had moved from there overnight or if it’s still there

Point to note re the upcoming comparisons of S Stock and 24ts:

They will be roughly the same age difference ( 13 to 15 years) as there A Stock and 73ts were. Did the 73ts feel generations ahead of the A Stock when new?

While it didn't enter service until the 60s due to post-war austerity the A stock was effectively designed before WW2. The interior wasn't wildly out of line with the 73TS but...
