For those who may not know, 390119 is not in service today after having problems with it's tilting mechanism during yesterday's launch trip to Manchester. I believe it's being repaired at Longsight TMD. Hopefully it'll be out again tomorrow so I can get a good shot of it when it's not raining!

No doubt that will be caused by too much colour on it in some peoples eyes ;)8-)

Out of interest does anyone have the lowdown on which units are now in full or 'half' (half obviously meaning driving cars) Avanti livery and which remain in the ghostly remains of the all white please?

They seem to have fixed the logo now:

Regards the "original" Avanti WC livery - I didn't like it at first. But, having seen it on a Pendolino crossing a bridge at a high speed, I really think it looks rather impressive when you see it in motion, and I really like it.

I think it's a grower, other than the triangle-with-A needs to have the A replaced with either the full brand or the actual coach letter. But only the full version, not the rubbish "dealership white" version.

Yes. What I actually saw was the "dealership white" with Avanti ends. I saw the front go through, and then I somehow felt a little disappointed that I didn't get to watch the whole livery!

Thats amazing, thanks a lot. I've been a bit lax in keeping my records up to date so this helps. I'll check my own photographs and see if I can add any to the list :) I assume then that apart from 119, any not listed above are in all white (to the best of your knowledge)?

Aside from the PRIDE design, I actually prefer the front of the train in that purple colour than Avanti's standard green colour.

Ugh, no. It's the same nasty, insipid purple that the Scout Association are using on their publicity. A slightly darker purple I'd agree.

Are you saying you don't like the new Pride livery? I wish you'd make it clearer ;) :D

Thanks very much. Just going to make my tea and will then update my records :)

To be clear - I like the idea of Pride liveries (and indeed variant liveries generally, provided they are nicely done). I don't like that Pride livery :D

As one example I'm quite a fan of the way New St's Tensabarriers (inside at the B end) are rainbow colours which I suspect is Pride related (they predate the NHS using the rainbow too).

I'm only messing :D Everyone is entitled to an opinion on the colour scheme of a train - providing said opinion is expressed in the right manner as yours and most others have been on here :)

Video has appeared from AWC's contractor showing the application of the vinyls for the Pride livery; probably nothing unexpected being done here but it gives you a nice view of the whole livery

Great to see the social media wibbling about this train. It is fantastic. So many angry & silly snowflakes so easily triggered about the colour of a train. More of this I say!

I did see a classic reply on Twitter. "If you're offended by the Avanti Pride train, don't worry, there are plenty of straight trains also running today" :) :)

I thought the whole point of the Pendolinos was that they tilted, so they didn't have to be straight, even at high speeds :p

Just came across this Daily Mail article from yesterday ; no one else has posted it. Sorry for unnecessary adverts in the article and associated Daily Mail stuff. I dont know how to isolate the article so posting the link.
Not sure what the person quoted means asking about 'pathetic virtue signallers ' and why does article say the train has an engine at the front?

It's a pretty common media strategy they use. They find an LGBT person who doesn't like something to do with lgbt inclusion then use them as a proxy for opposing it. That way they can deflected the implication that they're homophobic and instead say that they're standing up for *actual* LGBT people.

I do a lot of work for trans rights and there are a handful of transphobic trans people who seem to be quoted in the media every few weeks opposing legal protections for Trans and Non binary people. It's quite frustrating because the average person doesn't realise what they're up to.

Unfortunately you lost me after the 5th and 6th words of your post. That rag, along with the s*n should have been closed down a long time ago

Today's 390119 allocations if anybody fancies a bank holiday stroll to see it:

1S37 EUSTON 0531
1M12 GLASGOW C 11:37
1S90 EUSTON 17:10
5S90 GLASGOW C 22:32

Usual caveats apply.

Between Peterborough & Bedlington
3900010 & 039 now have window bands; 390046 seems to be running without them.

When did 390107 get partially "Avanti'd"? Flickr searches tell me that it was still all white 4 days ago.

Early 2021 for Pendo refurb. They havent even shown any renders or said what the 'exiting new food offer' will be.
