OK folks can we stick to the topic at hand - Class 43 disposals.

If anyone wants to speculate about anything else they are welcome to start a thread in the speculative ideas section (or use an existing one)

Thanks :)

They’re being used for spare parts I’ve been told. Such a waste, especially since 43193 and 43197 are younger power cars so must still have some life left in them!
The age of them makes absolutely no difference now: even the youngest power cars will be 39 years old this year.

The speculation of using the four that have moved to Laira on the beds is that the case?

Does anyone know if 43052/054/066/076 in use with DATS are owned by DATS or just leased from Porterbrook? Thanks

Seen with mk1 eyeballs passing Peterborough about half an hour ago, 43306 leading.

Stock (not in running order); 40705-42116-42186-42191-42192-42193-44077.

66748 is on 5c20 1443 Long Marston to Laira tmd. Passed on time through Evesham. However 43078 and 43069 had a mk3 hst coach in the middle. Also 43196 and 43086 had a mk3 hst coach in the middle. Looking very battered and worn livery wise.
However interesting to see a mk3 hst coach between each power car though.

No plans for 43s on Night Riviera. EVER.
I think that just about settles that rumour then :)

Any idea which coaches these were?

Reported on WNXX (subscription) today that 43140 (SCXL) has been disposed of at Glasgow along with the coaches from the Stonehaven derailment, the other power car 43030 has been transported to Haymarket

The ScotRail HST thread proves that they aren't physically scrapped.
They are still in existence and located at Glasgow Works for now. They'll be moving to an alternate storage facility at some point but they will be retained until the COPFS has concluded the Fatal Accident Inquiry, which is likely to take a few years.

Actually, no it doesn’t. There are conflicting reports, although one saying the vehicles blocked the roads while being moved would suggest they have gone for disposal.

Although there are also comments in that they will be moved to an alternative storage facility so it could have been that blocking the roads?
