Apprentice Train Driver

I've never seen anyone on this forum say that they have had a reply from Colas in all the years they've been recruiting.
I thought most of their drivers worked from home?"Majority of training will be carried out in Derby. However upon successful completion of the training period, you are required to re-locate as per the job requirement."
Guessing you can't choose where to locate to in the unlikely event of them actually getting back to you?
I think this is so you can keep yourself amused/awake when parked up in a siding! ‘Of mice and men’..lolEnglish Literature though guys. Make sure you have read Of Mice and Men from cover to cover. Very important for train driving.
I assume it just means English, but that made me chuckle too.English Literature though guys. Make sure you have read Of Mice and Men from cover to cover. Very important for train driving.
If you'd kept your hand in a vaseline glove you'd not have sustained that wrist injury!I assume it just means English, but that made me chuckle too.
If Mice and Men....there’s a blast from the past...”Hey, Geoooooorge”
No idea, but surely they would at least give you a couple of options??So only the training is in derby and after that you could be based anywhere?
It's certainly an odd set up. The drivers that drive the test trains can't do the freight such as the logs and vice versaI’m beginning to think Colas is just a drug trafficking front and no one actually works for the company.
I also applied many years ago for a job I was fully qualified for and got no response.
Pretty sure they always say something similar with giving unrealistic notice periodsTempted to apply but on the (optional) questionnaire it does ask if you'd be ready to start the course in October which given the notice period for my workplace wouldn't be feasible even if I got offered a spot tomorrow.

I did.For those that have applied, did anyone get confirmation email once they applied?
I did.
Just confirms that they're going to review against their requirements
I got the same when I applied a couple of years ago. Mine went in to junk too so keep an eye on them.Ah, just seen it now it went into my junk folder. Thanks mate.
