The F A are due to confirm how the four-week lockdown will affect the non-elite clubs later today.
Atalanta 0-5 Liverpool.
Our best performance of the season so far, outstanding football from start to finish.
Summer signing Diogo Jota scored a hattrick, with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané scoring a goal each.
It's a dip in form. These things aren't terminal. As an Arsenal fan, you might want to recall Aubameyang going through a similar thing recently, but Arteta put his faith in him, and he picked up.Surely Firmino has to be dropped now. His goalscoring record has never been impressive, but now he also keeps on giving the ball away and his passing has become poor.
Although as an Arsenal fan I hope he keeps starting .

Aubameyang's a few years older than Firmino.True, but Firmino is getting older, and his dip in form has been going on since the start of 2020, whereas Aubameyang's lasted 5 games at most. I'm not saying Firmino is finished but his dip in form has been quietly going on for quite a while and has been covered because he has such a good team around him and until Jota came no replacement, whereas when Aubameyang's form dipped its more noticeable as we rely on him so much.

In a nutshell, "non-elite" football is binned between 5th November and 2nd December. Includes both matches and training. The F A are due to confirm how the four-week lockdown will affect the non-elite clubs later today.
Exactly, which makes Firmino's long drop off in form worse. I'm not saying hes become a bad player, but I feel like if I were a Liverpool fan I'd want Jota to be starting over him at the minute.
Firmino's ongoing spell of poor form is a concern, and I genuinely think he needs to spend some time on the bench. Trying to play him into form hasn't worked.

I really like Firmino, but based on current form, I'd start Jota every time. In fact, I'll be very disappointed if Jota doesn't start our league game on Sunday after he's just scored a hattrick in the Champions League.
Could this also apply to Pogba at Manchester United?
Why did Wolves let Jota go ?
And as regards Manchester United's 2-1 defeat in Istanbul last night, a "loss for us" in the Bosphorus?!In one of the groups in the Champions League, there will be managers of both PSG and Manchester United who will now realise that away Champions League games are not easy fixtures.

All is good in the worldSwindon Town 1 v Darlington 2.
Second round of the FA cup baby!
Bristol Rovers away for Darlo in the FA cup second round. A poor draw sadly but we have already turned over one poor league one side so bring it on. Magic of the FA cup (TM) and all that.
Chorley draw Peterborough in FA Cup

As one who has followed your Darlo postings over the years on this thread (remembering the Hyde United v Darlington matches when they were once in the same division), I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate your team on their current F A Cup run.
Patrick Bamford had a goal ruled out for offside by VAR in Leeds’ defeat to Crystal Palace on last Saturday. The ball struck his outstretched arm. What's going on? You can't score with your arm. Surely it's the feet which should determine offside!
DFC:
Following an incident on the field near the end of the match, Nicky was left unconscious and needed lengthy treatment for a head injury from the physios of both clubs and medical staff.
He was taken to hospital at 11pm by ambulance
Sorry I didn't get this quite right. The ball didn't strike Bamford's arm. He raised his arm to point to where he wanted the ball to go. Before he did so he was comfortably on-side and it was only his arm which ruled him off-side.
I don’t think there’s been many VAR offside decisions that, by the letter of the Law, are incorrect. As frustrating as whatever the minimal margin may be, it is a black and white law, so offside is offside.
This precisely. It’s crazy the amount of times I’ve had to try and explain this concept to people. It drives me insane when pundits say “ah but the lines are so close, we should have a 5cm allowance”. All that does is move the line, and all hell kicks off when someone is offside by 5.01cm
This I also completely agree with - as a ref myself I’m getting more confused by the week as to what constitutes handball. What is maddening with VAR is the subjective stuff.
