Where is it that football supporters go to in their much younger days to learn that very special version of the Laws of the Game that bears no comparison to the official version?
what ever it is i hope we have enough left for the rest of the season! We were gone 3 weeks ago. 4 wins in a row. Beat the team second in the league 4-0 ( they thrashed us at their place earlier in the season) Sadly result have gone against us so we remain in the bottom 4 but now only 3 points of 17th! Incredible turn around. Amazing what a proper manager can do.I want to know what Darlington FC have started putting in their tea!
I was at the game, and can confirm Stoke played pretty well in the second half (after the time-wasting stopped). I do think we had the chances to make the game more comfortable, but failed to take them. Ultimately, it didn’t matter as we ground out a win with a weakened team, but if that helps us get 3pts on Friday against Wednesday with a stronger team, it will be viewed as great strategic thinking. A win is a win, and is especially valuable as we are on a tough run of games.Leeds United 1-0 Stoke City
Another defeat for Stoke. Seven losses in nine games. According to the match report Stoke played very well in the 2nd half, but unless you equal or score more than the opposition a defeat is still a defeat.
This season may well cause me to lose my hair... the bottom half of the Championship is tighter than a Yorkshireman's wallet. The above result went our way, but Sheffield Wednesday beat Plymouth in a game that I'd rather have ended in a draw. Birmingham managed a draw with in-form Hull, and Blackburn and Millwall also shared a point apiece. Tomorrow (technically today now) Huddersfield go to Cardiff, and a win would see us leap from 21st to 16th place. Currently only two points separate Plymouth in 16th from Sheffield Wednesday in 23rd. It's looking like 50 points will be needed for survival, which is ridiculous really...Leeds United 1-0 Stoke City

Not with Man City, they haven't qualified for the QF, yet!Harry's chance of actually winning a trophy is still alive. He scored twice as Bayern Munich beat Lazio 3-0 on the night 3-1 on aggregate. In the other game PSG beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on the night, 4-1 on aggregate. They are now going into the Quarter/ Semi Finals draws along with the likes of Man City on Friday week.
Something Paul Pogba sent them?I want to know what Darlington FC have started putting in their tea!
Finished 1-10 in favour of Brora.A match in the Highland League tonight between bottom club Strathspey Thistle (W1 D1 L22..GD-73) at home to Brora Rangers (W12 D7 L3 GD +43)
Strathspey Thistle have taken over the title of "on no, not another big defeat" from Fort Willam, who now play in a different league.
Strathspey should nevertheless be safe from relegation from the Highland League, unless Lochee United, the only SFA licensed club eligible for promotion who are still in contention in a feeder league below, do win the (Scottish) Midlands Football League. The Blue Bells are currently 14 points adrift of top spot with 11 fixtures leftSo there is a team having a worse season than Sheffield United.
And even then they would have to win a play-off over two legs. Which they might not if they don’t want promotion.Strathspey should nevertheless be safe from relegation from the Highland League, unless Lochee United, the only SFA licensed club eligible for promotion who are still in contention in a feeder league below, do win the (Scottish) Midlands Football League. Apparently leading to an unexpected boost to the crowd at AFC Totton as Preston fans sought out some football to watch.Tonight’s Championship Game between Southampton & Preston has been postponed due to a fire at an industrial unit next to the ground.
Bit anticlimactic reallyLiverpool 1-1 Manchester City today, Arsenal the beneficiaries, receiving two points by a gift donation, Arsenal top of the league, may well wrest the Championship
It's a bit rich for Watford to call someone an interim head coach, given the lack of permanence that goes with the job anyway.Valerian Ismael has been sacked by Watford with Tom Cleverley taking over on an interim basis until end of season.
Neil Warnock has left Aberdeen.
Ismael had been in the post since the start of the season... Birmingham, Huddersfield and Sunderland have each changed managers twice this season and Huddersfield did the same last season as well. The "Watford change their manager all the time" thing is a bit of a dead meme. It's a bit rich for Watford to call someone an interim head coach, given the lack of permanence that goes with the job anyway.
As of today, they are on their fourth since sacking Rob Edwards. It's far from a dead meme. The "Watford change their manager all the time" thing is a bit of a dead meme.
