Hello all, can anyone tell me if this is where the stage 2 assessments are? Have I circled the correct building? I asked a while back but Google Maps seems to have updated since then and it all looks different on this screenshot I've added below.

No I made that mistake that is the repair shed.
You drive up to that then cross over the train tracks further down there is a building on the right it's in there

Just had an email to say I’ve passed the online tests and have been invited to an assessment centre :)

Does anyone know what the salary while training is if you do get the job? And how long it takes before going up?

Also, what sort of shifts you work? Guessing as it’s freight it’s lots of nights?

Wahoo! Just got an email... Passed the 2 online tests and through to the next stage at Watford on 11th Dec.

Any advice for preparing for:

· The Trainability for Rules and Procedures Test Part 1 and 2

· The Group Bourdon Concentration Test

· The Driver Fault Finding Test (DFFT)

· The Test of Everyday Attention for Occupational Assessment (TEA-Occ)

They should of sent or should send some practice material, this is more than enough to prepare you. The tests are really straightforward. My only advice would be to make sure you fully understand each test so you're confident in what you have to do.

Congrats!! Use the practice materials they have sent you as I found them quite useful. If you can spare a few hours then have a read through this thread and it should help. You will find some useful websites on the internet as well.
You will find that the team from OPC are very good and ensure you understand what you are doing before they start. Just ensure you stay calm, collected and listen to the instructions. Speed and Accuracy is key.

Congrats :) Like @Seejwalker and @Lendog2012 have said, the practice material they have sent you is sufficient. There is software available for free on the forum though for the Group Bourdon test which is useful - https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/group-bourdon-tool.156417/

Other than that the practice material is great, the material isn't exactly the same but the concept is there so if you understand the practice you will understand the tests themself on the day. I went one step further and paid for extra practice material from the OPC website but that's not really neessary, it's just the same practice material but extra & different questions, it's useful but the free material is fine :)

I walked back to the station afterwards. @Pete C kindly gave me a lift there from the Premier Inn in the morning but I finished earlier so made my own way back. It’s further than google maps leads you to believe haha. A good 2-miles to the station is say.

I thought I would finally join the forum as I have been reading a lot lately about the freightliner trainee driver selection. I received an email this morning telling me that I had past the 2 online test and my next step is the assessment in Watford on the 11th so I guess I will see some of you there.

Haha thankfully I’m driving, I don’t fancy walking that in a suit and in this cold lol.

Miracles happen, I'm in too for the assessments (13th). I only wonder whether they are going to make me re-sit the written and paper assessments, as I passed them with Thameslink a couple of years ago, and as far as I know they were enhanced. I hope I can jump straight to the MMI. In the email there is stated not to contact them now because they wouldn't be able to advise, they will tell on the assessment day. I come from Kent so I think I'm going to book a room in a hotel, or perhaps I'll drive leaving very early.

Bloody Watford - typical. I had to go all the way from east London to Crewe for my stage 1 and 2! :lol:
